ig transcript: Vel, what were your parents' reactions to your decision of searching for other sirens??

the very first time i asked i was still quite little, and i remember i tried to do the biggest puppy eyes i could to convince them, father was happy of my idea at first but then spiraled in an anxiety episode saying stuff like " but it's too soon you're too small it's dnagerous, what if they don't exist, what if it takes forever, what if you waste your life away looking for them my poor baby nooo" and bla bla bla i admit it scared me a little but i was determined! Dad instead almost fell for the puppy eyes but he agreed with father that it was too soon and dangerous but he said he'd come with me to protect me when i would have been old enough for the trip and there we are!

ig transcript: was Vel always aware about being a siren or is something that she learnt later??

she was! the siren myths were considered like absurd tales from the time of the war so to everyone around them was as if bigfoot was actually real and there was no doubt about it (but she'll find out that the myth originated from one of the tetras that left the atoll to check the state of the world and left notice of the existence of the sirens but no one believed them and thought they were a bit coocoo, also she found out they pronounced the name wrong as see-rén instead of how it's pronounced normally in english)

Bsky transcript: To Vel: Vel since you're a mermaid/siren inspired themed character what is like to swimming in the water or just singing a siren song to the sailor's?

uhm…technically i'm not a mermaid, you could say my dad is a merman but i'm usually a bird and don't get to come to the Kingdom of Sea often…the singing thing is an annoying stereotype like it's not that we can't , heck my dad charmed my father once- but we usually don't

Vel! How did your parents react when you were born/hatched??

they've always been vague about it but i know NO ONE in the avii federation expected that egg to hatch so i don't blame them for being likely shocked and unprepared... i've been the first siren to hatch outside of the Kingdom of Sea ever after all, to them sirens were just a long forgotten absurd myth after all

help the brainworms keep going but this time stuff from after the island, lu'rei and rangi would probably have to sneak in in secret in the palace since this whole island full of sirens and an elderly tetra from the times of the war sure would make people talk

The council of the atoll

more written notes so that i can write dwn the voices tfyghjuki as usual this is just a script to help me remember these dynamics i am not well versed in writing

setting: tranquill nest atoll, main village night time inside of a big hut. light is dim coming from lit torches a group of people( humans, avii and rien alike) are sitting in circle on the ground except lu'rei sitting on a decorated wooden chair

Siren man at lu'rei's right: it's quite obvious what we are riunited here for tonight, we are going to adress the visitors from outside Avii woman at lu'rei's left: they managed to come through the storm, i checked their ship over the coral reef, it's as good as new ,did the storm weaken? Avii man: it's possible... we don't have the protection of multiple tetras anymore and our chieftain...with all due respect...is getting weaker Lu'rei: it's ok, it's true i am weakening my time in this world has been long and most of my energies have been spent...but....that girl... Siren man : you think the storm let them in? Lu'rei: *nods* I know a first generation siren when i see it, the girl still has the blood of a tetra in her veins, her talons they are shiny gold, her feathers pure white... there's no mistaking Human woman: could she be the daughter of one of our long lost tribe members? they ventured outside and never returned so maybe... Siren woman: the human man that is with her claims to have found her egg abandoned on the rocks of an island... one of our own would never abandon their eggs either something happened to them or the egg was stolen Avii woman: that human man is extremely suspicious.... i don't trust him... how does he know an avii dialect? Siren woman: when i questioned him he said he learnt it from his avii husband Avii man: this means that avii are still thriving outside of the storm! maybe it's safe to leave now? Human man: hmmm i wouldn't rush to conclusions, i agree that man feels weird...he claims to be a humble fisherman but his hair.... Human woman: ah i see what you mean you think he's an abyssal nobleman? human man: *nods* but nobles... be them shallower or abyssal never go to the surface avii woman:he's clearly lying to us about his identity... avii man: i also saw his eyes glow in the dark before coming here, that was kinda creepy! i've never seen a human do that human woman: are you sure about that?( the avii nods) hmm... maybe he's mixed? a noble to be mixed and walk on land tho... it makes no sense...and who speaks avii too... Lu'rei: i agree... the wind around him is quite murky..but it doesn't speak ill intent...I want you to keep eyes on him and the girl, i don't believe them to be hostile, but never let your guard down... it's getting late now, we will meet again in a couple of days, may your rest be restoring all: yes chief! (the siren man and the avii woman accompany lu'rei out of the scene)
