If not fire-breathing spiders, what do you suggest? Acid-spitting butterflies? Killer equines? A flock of angry water fowl?

I’m getting the urge to create something. I probably shouldn’t because I’ll regret it when this wears off but…

What do you think of fire-breathing spiders? Yes? No? I think its genius.

You look like my brother. I have the vague urge to punch you in the faceplates. I suppose you can’t help how you look.

Primus lays back, letting his mind just drift and luxuriating in the experience. For these precious moments he doesn’t have to prepare for battle, doesn’t have to watch over the multiverse, doesn’t have to focus on the yawning chasm at his center.

He can just be. Like a dimming star, everything fades away. He’s no creator god. He is no warrior. He’s just a being like any other, trying to make its way through life and occasionally failing.

He knows he will likely regret some of his choices when all is said and done. However, it is worth it to feel this fleeting freedom.

… I’ve got nothing. I’m the creator of more dimensions than I can count, and I’ve got nothing. Do you want one of the spiders instead? I’m sure at least you’ll appreciate them.

[Primus is just beginning to feel the effects of the ambrosia, things starting to fuzz around the edges. There are even times when the hole at the middle of his spark doesn’t ache quite so much. It is such a rare and pleasing feeling. He’s not ready for it to be over anytime soon.]

I’ve just had one. Just one. I wish I had another, though.

There is one thought with the power to cut through the haze.

‘At the end of this, you’ll still have to face her.’

Primus had lost many, but the sting of that first death and all it carried with it brought up painful memories. Without it, none of this would ever have happened. At least he had one advantage on his side. Last had known her as well as he. If they could harness that knowledge, maybe they stood a chance.

If only Last can see through the pain of that first encounter, and if he can to. This haze will not last long enough to dull that.
