Tired
Everday. I wake to see my loving wife, My beautiful son and the city I wish to protect. I love my Family, I love my friends and I love my job. But that does not change how tired I feel. The tired you get from watching those you love get hurt, Day by day. The tired you feel when yet another innocent life is taken away from their family. The tired you know from the years of Nightmares from the past. The tired that you cannot escape. I have watched as friends, coworkers and innocents fall prey to the very city that I protect. Yet.... I cannot stop my endless vigil. These people need us, As much as we need them. They do not know how I feel whenever one of them is hurt, robbed or murdered. They do not know how much I care for their well beings. I work this thankless job for two reasons. One, I love doing it. And Two, Not many others are willing to do it. There are so few Guardsmen. All of them are my friends, My coworkers.... And Family. They all mean something to me, As the City means something to me. However... I still cannot shake how Tired I feel. Maybe it’s the Restless Nights, The Nights I cry myself to sleep, The days that seem to never end or... Maybe it’s not enough coffee. All I know. Is that I feel tired. -Journal Entry #565 P.S. I hope no one is reading through this journal.
(Just thought I’d throw a post out there of the inner ramblings of the Staff Sergeant. If y’all like this sort of thing, I’ll post more journal entries. If ya’ don’t. I’ll try posting more light hearted things.)
