From my vacation in Bodrum, Turkey, this is the best bakery I have ever been to in my life. These are just some pictures of what they make and it is as delicious as it looks. We went there at least once a day for dessert and sometimes twice or for breakfast. More pics coming
Tickets bought for my next big adventure: 10 days in Turkey and Israel. Only a month away!
First, Paris to Istanbul. Mint tea, markets, Turkish commedia, and sleepy alley cats. If there's time, I hope to make it over to Bursa, the city my mother's family lived and worked in before immigrating to the United States.
Next comes Tel Aviv. Already receiving some promising responses on couchsurfing. Excited to explore the Near East -- solo.
In other news, I'm still trying to decide between Amsterdam, Berlin, and Bilbao for this coming weekend.
Ideas?
After lunch we went on a boat trip( I will put the name in later). This is all protected as it’s very old. There was a large population living here in the 7th century AD. There was a large earth quake and it started to sink. The large photo shows part of the harbour wall. If you zoom in you can see what’s left of done buildings in the other photos. In the middle small photo you can see some pottery through the glass bottom of the boat. I am stood on the top of the boat. It’s a beautiful day and stunning views. I did have to remind myself it’s the end of January and very wet back home. The place is called Kakova.
This is the first St Nicholas church ever. St Nicholas was born near here. He was from a rich family but chose to help all the children that didn't have family. They didn't know who it was helping them. So that is were the Father Christmas comes from that we know today.
