No one had questioned when his younger brothers has started the rumor that he’d missed a year of school due to being sent off to juvie to straighten him up. The nature of the supposed crime varied in the telling: drugs, robbery, and one claim of taking a police car for a ride. He appreciated the cover however considering he had to share a grade with them now. Not that almost 19 was really too old for a senior. But then he was also probably the only one to get detention his first day back for talking back to the teacher over the “dress code violation”. Yes he had tattoos, but there was no way he was going to be wearing long sleeves when it was still hot outside and band aids weren’t exactly going to cut it.
They worked it out eventually, but he still wasn’t eager to stay home for long. His pups needed a walk after all and he grabbed some food for the three before heading back out the door. His father was not going to be happy he was already causing trouble and right at that moment he didn’t want to hear it. He headed out and back to the main part of town, slowing a little when he reached the flower shop. Maybe if he got something for his mother she might intercede on his behalf and cut the lecture in about half or so. He tied the three carefully to the sign outside before heading in. He’d only be a minute...
