Death - //Because we haven't had any angst for a while, muahahahaha!
Everything had gone wrong, terribly wrong.
Silver loomed over that fallen 'bot, a tendril curled around Gears' chin- forcing him to look at The Spine. To look at the blue matter splattered across his fiance’s chassis as he gasped and sputtered- systems failing.
Oily tears streamed down Gears' face, vocoder scratched and voice hoarse from his cries, those futile screams to stop, to just take him instead- but that monster never listened.
He was fully restrained by that evil, corrupted Spine- unable to even reach out and comfort his love in those final moments. All he could do was to watch those beautiful emerald eyes fade to darkness, a hand weakly reaching out to him before going limp.
Even now, The Spine didn’t blame Gears... but Gears himself, on the other hand...
Silver spoke up in a low tone, affirming those awful thoughts that swirled in Gears’ mind.
"Look at him, Gears. You failed him, it's the least you could do."
Those thoughts, those hurtful voices in Gears' head only intensified as those grief-filled malfunctions increased.
'You should have known better than to drag anyone into this.'
'Why would you think you deserved happiness?'
'You ruined him, and now you've ruined the lives of his family, too.'
That grief, the absolute despair in that broken Rabbit's face as he kept whispering apologies over and over, the trembling of his body- Silver couldn't help but to smile.
“What a shame, you could have avoided this if you had just turned yourself in~”
And now- claws poised over Gears' chest, digging into the edges around that beautiful blue core... it was time to claim his reward.
...Gears wouldn't even fight back.
