Deluxe class

Cogman

I forget what the current wave this figure is from, but Cogman here is actually a repackaged deluxe figure from ‘Transformers The Last Knight’ movie of the unreleased toy in 2017.

He never showed up in the stores after the movie flopped in the theaters, and Hasbro simply took the existing toy and included him into the Studio Series line.

Cogman was a new character in ‘Transformers The Last Knight’

He wasn’t a full-sized Transformer in the movie, however as it turns out he was intended to be a headmaster, but that was never utilized.

Titan Master:

Technically Cogman IS the Titan Master. He is your standard Titan Master figure; the little robot is unpainted, but well detailed, has ball jointed arms, bending knees, and ball jointed head.

And of course he flips into the larger robot head, but we’ll talk about that later.

Vehicle Mode:

Car mode is a silver (oh wow…a Bayformers character which is silver…I’ve never seen that done before…) Aston Martin.

It’s a nice looking car mode.

It’s got a lot of smooth, sweeping curves, and I like the design. The only issue I can think of is the seem on the truck of the car; it just close all the way.

The Titan Master Cogman can fit inside the car mode. You open up the roof of the car and there’s a space on right of the car. Remember this is England; the steering wheel’s the wrong side.

The scale of the car mode looks a bit larger than your average Studio Series figure, but then again Cogman wasn’t originally meant for this toyline anyway.

Transformation:

Conversion to robot mode and back isn’t too bad; I found it quite fun. Don’t forget since Cogman is a headmaster, you got to place the mini robot atop the shoulders of the larger one.

Robot Mode:

Robot mode is actually pretty good. As I'm certain many of you already know I tend to complain a lot about the Bayformers aesthetic, however Cogman has a really good, cleaned up and cohesive design.

He’s mostly silver (naturally) with grays, and some yellow on the chest and abs.

Cogman’s aesthetic is knight themed, like just about all the Transformers in part 5. I don’t even have any complaints with Cogman’s nightmarish face. It’s got that Bayformers flavor to it, but less hideous.

Cogman’s only accessory (besides his head, I suppose) is a broad sword. It fits in his hand well, and it’s serviceable. There’s not much else to say about the sword because it looks just any other type of sword.

Final Thoughts:

My final thoughts are…I like him. I didn’t really like Cogman in the movie; he was psychotic, and unhinged; however this toy is pretty cool.

Yes, the silver is boring and unoriginal (that’s Bayformers for you...), but the robot mode as a whole fun.
