Timelapse, the first one I e ever posted, full drawing, and cropped image of the characters closer up. References used included an image of a human vein, a photoshop of a mirrored forest, and a screen cap from a video game(I think).
If you’re following my (sporadic) updates on multiple fic “Trust Fall” from tumblr, then I’m sorry to disappoint you, but this is an art and lore dump not a chapter update. I drew this to go in either the next chapter, or one a couple up the line though, so it’ll be seen again.
I really wanted to have a lore post though, so we’re talking titans, Praxus, and Cybertron. In my fic the city of Praxus is built on top of a Titan. Not one like Metroplex, though he counts, an absolutely massive titan able to support a city the size of Beijing or New York. Praxus is big, old, and a political contention point in my fic.
She kinda has to be considering that the first big act of war in most continuities is the bombing of Praxus. Regardless, in my fic she’s also awake, and here’s where the spoilers end of the lore dump starts.
Coming up Prowl and Jazz follow Whirl into the sewers to meet with the Leakers, whose deal I will wait to spoil. In order to get there though they go significantly deeper than the sewers themselves and end up in the catacombs going deeper still. This is where the whole titans are big shebang gets messy.
What they’re walking through in the image is one of Praxus’ fuel lines, ie a vein or artery. Lore wise in my fic, the Titans live and sleep just below the surface of Cybertron making up a majority of the outer layer of the planet.
This means both that Primus, as a planet god, is smaller than most Cybertonians think he is, and that the Titans are the second biggest mechanic around. The purpose of the image is to illustrate both the size of the titans compared to “modern” cybertonians, and to show the difference in how they evolved since the first transformers around.
For another reference scale, the big green crystal in the background is Praxus’ spark crystal, but only the tip. The Titans are huge, but also a different species of mech as far as that term applies to mechanoids versus organics.
I dunno, enjoy a super sketchy little Jazz and Prowl, and a pre empurata Whirl who’s sketchier though.
