Stanley Holloway, George Relph and Edie Martin in The TItfield Thunderbolt (1952), directed by Charles Crichton. His entry on the New York Times list of the 1,000 Best Films is The Lavender Hill Mob, also one of my best 1,001 movies, along with his A Fish Called Wanda.

Several of Rapido's products at their stand Warley, including the Stirling Single, the Titfield Thunderbolt and the Jones Goods.
The Titfield Thunderbolt (1952) is number 890 on Halliwell’s Top 1,000.
He gave the film three stars and wrote “Undervalued on its release in the wake of other Ealing comedies, this now seems among the best of them, as well as an immaculate colour production showing the England that is no more; the script has pace, the whole thing is brightly polished and the action works up to a fine climactic frenzy.”
My rating - middling
The Titfield Thunderbolt
First shown in 1953, this Ealing comedy about a group of villagers who battle to preserve the local railway line by running it themselves is currently available to watch in its entirety on the BBC iPlayer, but not for long!
