you were bouncing, but you couldn’t help it. grace had already told you to calm down three times before now, but you couldn’t help it. it had been two weeks, and you weren’t used to being away from tito. the two of you had started dating at the beginning of the off season, and so you still weren’t used tot he bubble like many of the others were. this was still new for you.
your cheeks hurt by the time you saw him, exhaustion evident in his features but he still wore a smile while he listened to something mat was telling him.
his eyes found yours and it’s as if everything stopped. you couldn’t feel grace nudging you, and he couldn’t hear mat asking him if he was still listening. your smiles were electrifying to those around you who could only sense how much the two of you cared about each other.
his arms were around your waist before you could process it, face dug into your neck as you sighed out with a sense of newly found comfort.
“hi, baby.” he spoke softly against your skin and you just about melted.
“hi, love. i missed you so much.” you held him tightly, swaying slightly and probably looking like a couple who hadn’t seen each other in months.
“you have no idea how happy i am to be back.” you drank in the way he looked at you when he lifted his head. his eyes so soft and caring and filled with love that was reserved for you. it was a moment you’d never imagined could feel so breathtaking.
“i love you.” truth be told, it had been a long time coming. you fell in love with tito easily, and he felt the same, but that didn’t mean that hearing it for the first time was any less surreal that books and movies made it out to be.
“i love you so much.” he kissed you then, almost knocking you off of your feet. it was amazing. he was amazing.
you could get used to him going away if this is what if feels like to have him come home.
your wedding was everything you wanted it to be. though the planning process hadn’t been the smoothest, the end result was truly worth every ounce of stress and anxiety. at the end of the day, you knew that as long as anthony was standing with you at the alter, nothing else mattered.
with a wide grin and ready eyes, you not said ‘i do’ in front of all of your friends and family. you drowned out every cheer and clap as anthony cupped your face in his hands and kissed you sweetly. it was a moment you’d never forget, and it was only the beginning.
your feet hurt not too long after the reception began, and you’d grabbed onto mat’s shoulder when you tugged your heels off with a loud huff.
“beauty is pain, mrs beau.” you rolled your eyes and swatted at his chest softly, but you couldn’t stop the smile that draped across your lips at the name.
“beauty is overrated as fuck.” he laughed his famous barzal laugh, head thrown back as his smile stretched up to his eyes.
he held his hands out to take your shoes once you had taken them off and set them neatly underneath one of the tables so they wouldn’t get trampled by one of the many hockey players that stood around the room. he asked if you wanted to dance then, scanning the room absentmindedly for any sight of anthony.
you danced with mat while anthony made his rounds, getting congratulated by just about everyone in the room while you twirled underneath mat’s arm. it was light hearted and fun, and mat helped pass the time until anthony popped up by your side.
“hands off my wife, barzy. I could beat you up, you know that right?” you rolled your eyes at anthony’s empty threat and listened to mat scoff in response.
“i was just keeping her company, no need to get all pissy about it.” you leaned into anthony when his hands fell onto the small of your back, successfully pulling him into his chest as he bickered with mat playfully.
you laid your head on his shoulder, and soaked in the moment you were living in until a familiar melody spilled from the speakers.
you gasped softly, lifting your head from anthony’s shoulder before asking him to dance with you. he smiled and agreed, because how could he could say no to you when you were looking up at him with wide, innocent eyes and asking him to dance with his newly wedded wife?
you whisked him away, offering mat nothing more than a quick thanks before you were wrapping your arms around anthony’s neck and leaning into his embrace.
you swayed gently, allowing anthony’s cologne to fill your senses as every single thought in your mind surrounded him. your husband. the man you got to call yours for the rest of your life.
“i love you.” you spoke softly, voice barely reaching above the music.
“i love you too, mrs. beauvillier.” you hummed at the name, deciding you would never get tired of hearing it slip out so easily.
you raised your head at the sound of metal clinking against glass, one sound turning into a chorus of sounds that all blended together when you locked eyes with your husband.
“kiss!” you rolled your eyes at mat, making a mental note to give him a hard time about it later.
your attention fell back into anthony, and his lips pressed against yours with ease. everything felt right, and you felt whole. here, in anthony’s arms, you knew that everything else was so minuscule in comparison to how high your heart was soaring.
40 and 43 with Anthony Beauilliver please if you write for him if not totally just ignore this!
40- Am I your husband or your taxi service?
43- Pick up lines only work when I’m drunk.
anthony knew to cut himself off early in the night when he noticed you throwing back more drinks than you usually did on a night out. your hands were interlocked with piper’s, mat’s girlfriend, and you both laughed about something neither anthony nor mat had any idea about.
“you’re in for a fun night.” mat nudged anthony with his elbow while pointing at you and piper. you were noticeably more drunk than piper, but anthony couldn’t seem to care much when he found it hard to tear his eyes away from your bright smile.
before anthony had a chance to respond, you were in front of him, leaning into him while smiling up at him.
“hi!” your arms wrapped around his back, hugging him tightly as he laughed gently at you.
“hi bébé.” he kissed your forehead gently, listening to you sigh out in content. “ready to go home?”
your eyes fluttered shut as you focused on the feeling of his fingertips on your lower back, tracing patterns beneath the hem of your top. you nodded at his question, standing straight up to bid mat and piper a goodbye before anthony tugged on your hand, towards the exit of the bar.
you swung your hands together as you walked, amusing anthony when you tried to get him to skip beside you. you squeaked when you found the car, excited to be engulfed in warmth and comfort as you slid into the passenger seat.
you were only two minutes into the drive when you sat up straight, a loud gasp bubbling in your throat.
“tito, can we go get mcdonald’s?” you looked over at him with wide eyes that made him chuckle softly.
“am i your husband or your taxi service?” you rolled your eyes and pointed when you saw one, hitting his bicep repeatedly.
“beau look, there’s one right there!” you whined when he passed it, a devious smile stretching across his lips. “anthony.” you whined loudly, pouting when he just laughed at you again. he knew you were drunk from the way you couldn’t pick one name to call him, a habit you’d had throughout the entirety of your relationship.
he was going to get you food, he was just messing with you for as long as he could manage. he knew there were two more mcdonald’s on your route home, and it was far easier to get in and out of the one closest to your apartment than the one you just passed.
your eyes drifted to your boyfriend, a smile gracing your lips as you admired him from your seat.
“what are you staring at?” he glanced at you for a moment, quickly turning his attention back to the road ahead of him.
“you must be made of cheese, because you’re looking gouda tonight.” anthony let out a loud cackle at the cheesy line, shaking his head at you while he tried to catch his breath from laughing so hard.
“babe, you know pick up lines only work when I’m drunk.” you rolled your eyes, letting out a heavy sigh as you slumped back into your seat.
you glares at him when his hand fell onto your thigh, gripping it softly as he continued your path home. you zoned out, letting your mind wander over multiple different topics before anthony was patting your thigh enough to grab your attention.
your eyes lit up when you realized you were in line at the drive thru, the familiar golden arches making your stomach moan in hunger.
“what do you want?” you smiled widely as you told him what you were craving, your mouth watering at the thought of food.
you leaned over the center console when you were stood still in the line, bringing your lips to your boyfriend’s cheek.
“je t’aime.” you spoke softly, watching the smile that never failed to melt your heart spread across his lips.
you’re just trying to help your friend. you’re hyper focused on the look in her eyes that she gave you when she asked you to be set her up with the guy across the room, you don’t even have the time to assess the guy at his side.
“i’m gonna cut tot he chase.” you watched the man before you raise his eyebrows, amusement clear in his expression as he smirked gently at you. “my friend’s into you, and you’d be dumb not to go home with her.”
a laugh bubbled part his lips just before asking you who your friend was. he followed the direction you pointed in just before smiling at the girl who had an obviously nervous expression tugging at her features.
you didn’t even catch his name before he walked past you to meet your best friend, shining an award winning smile at her in a matter of seconds. your focus was pulled away from the couple when you heard a hun of approval from beside you.
“you’re a good friend.” you smiled gently, nodding slowly in response.
“i try my hardest.” your eyes met his then, drinking in the way that his facial hair lined his face perfectly while he offered you the gentlest smile you’d ever seen before. you couldn’t ignore the harsh thumping in your chest, but you did take his hand in your when he offered it to you.
“i’m anthony. friends call me tito.” you smirked, a laugh bubbling in your chest at the bad joke in the forefront of your mind.
“tito’s is my favorite type of vodka.” he laughed, but you weren’t sure it was the first time he heard the joke. “y/n.” he nodded, glad to catch your name before he fired off his next line.
“can i get you a drink?” you smiled, nodding gently just before his hand fell into yours and he tugged you in the direction of the bar.
it felt oddly comfortable, your hand wrapped into his. it was almost overwhelming, but his hand dropped from yours before you could think too far into and his fingers tilted your chin up, forcing your eyes to meet his just before sending you a soft smile.
yoh had forgotten that you were even wearing it at this point. with your focus being on your assignments that had piled up during the week before finals, you weren’t aware of the hoodie you were wearing anymore. you had forgotten to eat lunch, let alone what you had put on when you rolled out of bed this morning.
truth be told, you just missed anthony. he had been gone for a few days, so the hoodie was pulled on in an attempt to comfort you throughout your long day.
you barely heard the door swing open, but you did hear the large bag being dropped by the door, a smile adorning your face as you glanced over your shoulder at the man who looked absolutely exhausted.
“hi baby.” your voice brought a smile to his face, one that had overridden the exhaustion and frustration he had built up throughout the trip back home.
“hi bébé.” his voice was soft, pairing with the slump in his shoulders as he made his way over to you.
you pushed your laptop off of your lap, standing to wrap your boyfriend in a tight hug. “are you doing homework?”
“yeah, but i can call it a night.” you pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, smiling when he hummed in satisfaction. “are you hungry?”
he pulled back from you just slightly, his eyes racking down your body before settling on the logo press cross your chest.
“this is mine.” he spoke softly, a smirk tugging at his lips as he fiddled with the material.
“it’s not my fault you left it lying around.” he rolled his eyes and pressed a kiss to your cheek. “i can take it off-“
“don’t be ridiculous.” you smiled, tilting your head back and lifting yourself on your toes to press a soft kiss to his lips.
he wrapped his arms around your waist, holding you tight against his chest as he took in the moment. he loved playing hockey, but nothing felt better than coming home to you after a roadie.
when he pulled back you asked again if he was hungry, offering to make something for him to eat but he denied your offer. he dug his head into your neck and sighed, saying that he just wanted to hold you and crawl into bed.
