September 4, 2020 - White-naped Xenopsaris, Reed Becard, or White-Naped Becard (Xenopsaris albinucha)
Found in forests, savannas, and wetlands in parts of Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Venezuela, these birds were previously thought to be tyrant flycatchers or cotingas, but are now classified in the tityra family. Often foraging low in vegetation and on the ground, they eat insects and possibly fruit. They build cup-shaped nests from grass, plant fibers, and rootlets in forked branches high in trees. Both parents incubate the eggs and feed the chicks.

These tityras are found from Mexico through Central America to parts of northern and central South America. They mostly eat fruit, as well as some insects and small lizards, foraging alone, in pairs, or in small flocks of three or four birds. Nesting in tree cavities, females incubate the eggs. They may raise two broods a year.
