The Department of Magical Law Enforcement is filled currently with a lot of people that haven't had a decent night's rest for the last month.
Between the magical disturbances, the ministry break in, the Azkaban break out, the kidnappings, the massacre, chasing WA members that seem to disappear all together (even with the strongest tracking spells and best aurors on their trail), and this newest kidnapping, it's enough for anyone to lose sleep over.
They're determined though; this time it's going to go right, this time no one will die, everyone will get home safely, and maybe, just maybe, the Ministry will have some good news for a change. Addison Hudson and her partner, Samantha, check over the team again, vetted extensively by the department's crisis negotiators to ensure the safety of Alec, but most importantly, Harmony Pearce. Their goal is to bring Alec back alive and to get Harmony to St Mungo's as quickly and effectively as possible.
Avery Monroe, who isn't at all cleared for this mission, but has been pushed through by Addison, sits with Trevor, the young boy who has new effectively been kidnapped, abused, and orphaned, all by the young age of fourteen.
"Everyone ready?" Sam cheerily asks the small group, that's assembled in the apparation room.
After murmurs of agreements, Addison takes over, "We'll be apparating just outside of his camp, from there we'll go on foot. We want to secure Ms Pearce without blood shed, understood?"
More murmurs of agreement are given and then the team apparates in unison, landing in a small area, cleared late yesterday for this very reason. No one talks as they trudge forward, through the rough bush, to the site of the camp.
Alec looks wild, a man without an anchor, and for a second no one moves forward. Harmony, obviously weak, sits on a chair in the corner, her eyes trained on the group, letting them know that she's still alive.
Craig and Hannah, the crisis negotiators step forward after a beat, showing the vampire their wands and making a show to lower them onto the floor. Avery does the same but the three aurors and two investigation officers make no move. "We have Trevor," Hannah says calmly and clearly, indicating behind her with her hand.
The tension in Alec's demeanor is released a fraction, but he stands stubbornly, shaking his head. "I see no Wizard Alliance members among you," it's said in a way that leaves no room for disagreement, even if there was one. "My terms were very clear."
"They've ran ..." Addison begins but is stopped by her partner
Craig steps a half an inch forward before saying, "We're doing all in our power to bring the men who killed your family to justice."
"The girl was more convincing than you," he says, not quite mockingly, almost truthfully, and when Alec makes a backwards step towards Harmony there's a collective reaching for wands that seems to anger the vampire considerably.
"Wait," a young male voice says from behind the group.
Avery walks forward with Trevor following closely behind her. Addison reaches to stop them, their only bargaining chip could disappear right before their eyes, but she reluctantly lets them go. They converse in quiet whispers, out of the earshot of the ministry workers, much to the aurors annoyances, their fingers brushing against the wands that sit in the holsters under their uniforms.
What could have been minutes, or seconds, the small group of vampires walks back towards the group. Alec walks closer this time, looking each of them in the eye. "Take her," is all he says before he disappears with Trevor in his arms. The aurors rush forward, but it's no good, the vampire is long gone.
Addison slowly goes towards the chair Harmony is sitting on, leans down and puts her arms around the weakened woman, apparating them both to St Mungo's where Harmony promptly collapses from exhaustion into a waiting stretcher
Joshua Cassidy sat in the normal place Harmony Pearce would sit. His eyes are blotchy and red, as if he was been crying. His hair was a messed, and it appeared as if dirt was streaked across his face, as if he had just ran out of the woods.
JOSHUA: Good evening everyone. My name is Joshua Cassidy—and, I know I’m not normally behind here, but I was sent out here tonight to share something with the Wizarding World. Well—more of I had to. Viewer discretion is advised.
The view of Joshua suddenly disappeared, and was replaced with the image of an older vampire. He was gazing straight ahead, as if he was watching you straight through your pensTV.
ALEC: I should suppose I should start out with a “Good evening” however, that does not seem fit considering what has occurred today. My people were slaughtered in a massacre tonight. There was no justification to this killing, just brutal death. My clan is gone, and any remaining members stay fearfully here or have fled into the night. The Voltraic Clan will not have people to give us a name anymore. In a 100 years, will people even know who the Voltraics were? Will they remember who were, what was done to us?
Behind Alec, some kind of muffled noise is here. He pauses before continuing to speak.
ALEC: I once said to the Ministry that if they did nothing to return Trevor to us, the Voltraic Clan would take matters into their own hands. And now, that the Voltraic Clan does not exist, these matters now fall solely into my hands. So, here is what is going to happen.
Alec shifted out of the way, revealing the source of the muffled noise behind him. In a chair, tied up, sat Harmony Pearce. Her face was dirty, streaked by tears that ran through the dirt.
ALEC: Miss Pearce here happened to come into our camp at the wrong time, which turned out, would be the right time for me. Now, I know, you all must want your dear, all-star reporter back, yes? That won’t happen until I get what I want. And this time around, the demands are upped. First, the Ministry is to safely return Trevor back to the remainder of the clan. Secondly, the people of responsible for the death of my clan will brought to justice. I want to watch them suffer as my clan has tonight. But if these demands are not met? Well, if Trevor is not returned, then Miss Pearce will not be returned as well. And if the Wizard Alliance does not die for killing my clan, well, you can just presume what will happen to her. The clock is ticking, Ministry.
Alec disappeared, and Joshua returned onto the screen. He was crying again, but knowing the Wizarding World could see him again, he quickly wiped them away.
JOSHUA: That is—please, bring Harmony home. But—that is it for this evening. I’m Joshua Cassidy, and have a good evening.
While the Wizard Alliance members were busy rescuing the hostages, the ministry of magic had its own plans
Getting the hostages out would be easy and blood free. All the ministry needed to do was procure the vampires Trevor and everything would just right itself, or at least, that's what the team had been telling themselves
They captured Owen Smythe this morning, or rather, they surrounded him in his office with a powerful truth sedative. Getting a secret keeper to reveal their secret is usually the easy part, figuring out who the secret keeper is the hard part. It only took two weeks to ascertain this, lots of sleepless nights, and hours of watching faces that moat of the team would prefer to forget.
They’re positive now.
Addison had gained the last piece of the puzzle in her negotiations last night – the motive. Everything slotted in place, the magical disturbances, the missing vampire boy, Trevor, now the last known Travers. The Wizard Alliance had been playing chess with the wizarding world, and they can only assume why. It always seems to be power with men like that.
A team of twenty circle the house now, all privy to the secret of its location.
They can spot five individuals inside. They expected more, but they won’t curse their good look as they move forward. Addison Hudson takes a team with her towards the back, as Sam, her partner keeps a team at the front, watching. As they hit the wards, their illusionment charms wear off and they have to be quick to act.
Bell tries an unlocking charm, but it doesn't work, she aims her wand again but an impatient Lopez kicks the door down and they move in.
Spells are fired immediately but Lopez and Bell are able to stun and subdue the two men in the kitchen easily as Addison leads the team through the house towards where the house plans told her a cellar would be located.
Turning the corner into hallway, they come face to face with five more members; each person stunned for a second before Addison punches the closest one in the face, spurring the room into a chaos of brightly lit spells.
One auror drops down but they appear to still be breathing. The room is almost won when the lone alliance member aims his wand towards the group of distracted aurors, murmuring the killing curse. Luckily, Lopez disarms him before he can finish his spell, and he is quickly put into a full body bind.
The question of just how many wizard alliance members there are start to crawl into their heads but they ignore it before being led by Addison to the cellar door, obviously warded. Jones, their wars expert does little work of it and soon they're descending into the cellar.
Trevor is chained to a chair and on a marble pedestal is something that only people who paid attention in History of Magic would recognize, the Crown of Zeus. Trevor is quickly released and offered water while the once thought destroyed relic is examined.
"Too easy," Addison mutters as she paces near the entrance to the cellar, Riley Scott's owl still fresh in her mind. "Lopez," she calls the other woman over. "Lopez, we're going to the library."
Before they can apparate though, a ministry emergency elf appears, handing Addison the bad news that she wordlessly hands over to Santana
All characters rescued will have been transported to St. Mungo’s right away. They will have to stay overnight, but will be released tomorrow after overnight observations. Characters who were injured however will have to stay for a few extra days.
Characters who were in the library will be expected to speak to someone from the Ministry at some point.
All wands were retrieved and returned to their owners.
The Library will remained closed off to the public as an investigation is conducted.
Family and friends can be expected to have been contacted by the Ministry and can be arriving at St. Mungo’s.
Warning: Violence and death ahead.
In the middle of the library, the hostages sat as they had been for days, engaged in different activities. Price was bent over a book, swatting Jensen away as he tried to read. Chris and Dave were back to tossing paper at Jeremy’s head as he read, trying to see who could hit him in the face first. They received scolds from Logan, who was attempting to stack up as many books as he could. Harper, Jake, and Charlie were engaged in a game of cards, as both Jenna and Quinn both attempted to get whatever sleep they could. Ellie and Kitty were quietly whispering to themselves, exchanging quick looks with their father every now and then. All the while, the group of vampires who were watching over them continued to do just that.
Addison had told them rescue was coming. They were just holding out now.
And then it happened all at once.
A burst of light pierced into the dark library. All heads snapped, the hostages sitting up straighter. This was it, the rescue they had been awaiting on was coming.
“AVADA KEDAVRA!”
It took one flash, one shot of green light to hit one vampire square in the chest. He fell backwards, dead before he could hit the ground
This wasn’t the Ministry. They watched as faces of parents, such as Judith St. James, Russell Fabray, and Julius Lestrange came in among many more. It was clear who these people were. They were the Wizard Alliance.
Suddenly, everyone went scattering—vampires, alliance, and hostages.
Chris and Dave were the first to take off. Dave quickly scooped his little brother up, tossing him over his shoulder and making off down an aisle. They pressed themselves up against a bookcase, peeking through as they watched madness begin to unravel.
Logan knocked over his stack of books, quickly reaching and grabbing Jeremy. Logan wrapped a tight arm around his best friend, dragging him off down one aisle. Jeremy attempted to fight him off, screaming to get to his sister. Logan threw them into a corner, holding down his thrashing best friend and attempting to keep him quiet by covering his mouth.
Jenna had already run off in the opposite direction though. Finding a table, she ran under it, pressing herself as far back from the scene from the front of her in order to stay safe.
Back at the center, Ellie and Kitty were heading to go to their father, however, Jake grabbed them and shoved them down the direction of an aisle. He screamed for them to hide, pausing for a moment to make sure the two sisters went running. Watching them round a corner, Jake turned to go find Harper, but he came face to face with a vampire instead.
Harper, who had taken Price and Jensen with her, was quietly creeping along the aisles in order to escape. Suddenly, a curse struck books over their head, knocking down them down and over them. They dropped to the ground, covering at their heads.
Charlie was running down an aisle, and suddenly collided into someone. The two fell into a pile, and looked over to find a reflecting face of themselves. Grabbing Quinn’s hand, Charlie pulled her sister up, and the two continued up to the second floor of the library, dodging a stray curse on the way.
It was chaos all around. Fangs were snarled, and flashes of light of multiple curses were going off left and right. From the places hostages could see, they watched as the Wizard Alliance spared no mercy, killing the vampires as quickly as they could. Bodies were dropping as terror and screams were contained.
Kitty and Ellie, who had taken place under a table themselves continued to look for their father. They spotted a window, seeing their dad slipping out of it. They made eye contact with him, watching as he mouthed an “I’m sorry” as a curse aimed at him missed and shattered the glass next to him. With a sad smile, Mr. Wilde slipped out the window, fleeing into the night and leaving his daughters behind again. As a vampire suddenly dropped dead next to their table, the two sisters clung to each other.
The table a few over from them, the one which Jenna was hiding under, was now empty. The girl had crawled out, having to step out over a body of a vampire to run off down an aisle. She was searching for her brother, however, she came across Jensen, Price, and Harper instead, who had managed to shove the fallen books off of them. Jenna was about to proceed to find Jeremy, but Price stopped the girl before she could. Price took Jenna by her hand and the four ran to the nearby bathroom, locking themselves in there.
A couple aisles over from the bathroom, Jake’s mouth was covered and he was being dragged against his will. He was being led in the direction of a window at the far back of the library, but was fighting back as much as he could. “Knock it off!” Maxmin who was dragging him, yelled. Jake only gave a muffled scream and struggled more, not willing to accept it. Reaching into his pocket, Maxmin attempt to pull out a sleeping potion, but Jake thrashed around more, causing the potion to shatter over the floor. Having enough, Maxmin turned and slammed the boy’s head into a bookcase. The blow knocked Jake out, causing him to slump over in Maxmin’s arms.
Up above, Charlie and Quinn saw what Maxmin had done to Jake. They both turned, going to grab books (or in Charlie’s case, a chair) to throw down at the vampire, however, they turned to come face to face with their father and another Wizard Alliance member instead. Before the sisters had a chance to speak, the spare member grabbed them, apparating them all out of the library.
Down below, Logan and Jeremy were still in their corner. Jeremy had quietened down into tears as Logan just held onto him, fighting back any of his own tears. Curses seemed to be quietening down, only going every off every few minutes. The two boys could hear footsteps approaching them, and they backed themselves into their corner more, as if it could swallow them whole. Suddenly, Judith St. James appeared in front of them. With a breath of relief, Jeremy and Logan wearily stood onto their feet. Jeremy gave his mother a hug before they were sent in the direction of an extra Alliance member, who apparated them out of the scene.
Chris and Dave were slowly moving away from their hiding spot, ready to make a break for the front entrance of the library. They rounded a corner, and saw a vampire a few feet ahead of them. As they were about to turn back, the vampire saw them, fangs gleaming as it started to approach them. Suddenly, a green light shot from behind them, hitting the vampire square in the chest. The brothers watched as the vampire dropped dead to the ground. Before they had a chance to move, someone was wrapping their arms around them, holding them tightly as they were apparated away from the dead body in front of them, out of the library.
Under their table, Ellie and Kitty were still clinging to each other. They watched as a member of the Alliance approached the bathroom where Jenna, Price, Harper, and Jenna were hiding out. They heard the scream of “Reducto!”, but never saw what came afterwards, as someone was suddenly touching them and they disappeared from the scene.
In the bathroom though, the door had been blasted to pieces, exposing the four hiding people. Walking into the bathroom, Eric Shaw, who for the longest time portrayed as the leader of the Alliance, aimed his wand at Harper. The Minister’s daughter, caught in the crossfires. It was all too perfect.
As Eric went to flick his wand, Price suddenly charged forward, tackling the man to the cold, bathroom floor. The curse went off course, but flames still shot out. They licked up Harper’s leg, and the girl fell screaming to the floor, clutching at her now burnt leg. Jenna quickly grabbed the shaking Harper, pulling her close and apparating them away. Jensen ran forward, pulling Price off of Eric. Suddenly their father, Julius, appeared from being, grabbing them and vanishing the family into thin air.
The Library was silent now. Dead bodies were everywhere, and any Voltraic members that had survived the massacre had escaped. Wizard Alliance members were gathering at the front of the library, observing what they had done.
Nearly all the hostages had been taken out, all except one.
With Jake dangling over his shoulder, Maxmin had finally gotten them to the back window, where Bryce was waiting outside. Suddenly, there was an explosion above him, causing ceiling tiles to come raining down in crumbling pieces. The vampire dropped to the floor, still holding onto Jake the entire time. Once the dust had settled, Maxmin stood slowly, turning to see two figures approaching him with their wands drawn out.
“Let him go.” Russell commanded.
Maxmin snarled, his fangs gleaming. “The boy is coming with me. We won’t allow you to take another Royal.”
Judith’s wand tipped slightly as she and Russell paused. They had suspicions there was another royal out there, but they certainly didn't think it be exposed to them this easily. Lucky them, no? “Another royal?" The woman repeated. "And we didn’t even have to track this one down, you brought him right to us. I do believe thanks are in order here."
Maxmin stood his ground, holding onto Jake.
“Don’t be a fool, Maxmin. Give us the boy.”
Still, Maxmin made no move.
Judith gave what sounded like a tsk before letting out a sigh. “Then you’ve forced my hand. Crucio!”
Maxmin screamed, falling to the ground in utter pain. Jake dropped with him, hitting the floor with a loud thud. Judith only held the curse for a minute, breaking it off. Once the curse was off of him, Maxmin quickly caught his breath on the ground. Neither Russell nor Judith displayed any signs of emotion as they returned their attention to Jake.
"So he is a Royal as well," Judith said, coming to stand over the boy. Behind her, Maxmin remained whimpering on the ground, recovering from the curse. Turning, Judith showed no sympathy, and quickly whispering “Avada Kedavra”, the vampire went still and silent.
With Maxmin now silent, Judith took a moment, searching the scene before her over. That was when she noticed something sticking out of Maxmin’s pocket. Walking over, the woman pulled out a wand, seeing the JP engraved in the handle. Placing it in the dead man’s hand, Judith then walked over to where Jake was. With a slash of her wand, a purple light suddenly hit the boy, and Jake’s eyes shot opened, the curse awakening him. The curse was over as quickly as it began, and Jake shut his eyes, holding onto whatever consciousness he could through as searing pain surged through him.
“What did you do?” Russell questioned.
On the floor, Jake attempted to gather any strength he had as he listened to Judith and Russell speak. He had to get out of here...
“Oh, I didn’t do it.” Judith said, her voice dripping with innocence. “Maxmin over there took the poor boy’s wand, then a page from Anton Dolohov’s book and cursed him. Don’t think that nasty gash to the head was necessary, not after how he caused a painful internal injury.”
“Devious, Judith.” Russell said, a smirk overcoming him as he spared Jake one last glance.
“Jacob is a Royal and--” Judith said to the man, but behind her, there was suddenly another thud.
The two turned around to find Jake attempting to push himself up again after falling. Russell quickly flicked his wand, hitting the boy with stupefy. The red light hit Jake, and he slipped back to the ground, unconsciousness.
Looking back at Russell, Judith continued to speak. “As I was saying, the weaker state Jacob is in, the easier it will be to take him, hence the necessary cursing. Those devices will work best when controlled by Royals. As soon as the chance opens up, we take this boy and have him join Trevor. Now pick him up.”
Russell quickly scooped Jake up as Judith turned, aiming her wand at the dead vampire as if she had just committed her curse on him. The Ministry reached the back scene, finding two Wizard Alliance members holding an injured boy, and another dead vampire among the ranks.
"The vampire attacked the boy," Judith explained. "We believe he was cursed before we arrived. Take him to St. Mungo's and get him immediate help."
Russel handed Jake off, and right away, the worker apparated away with Jake, but a new person suddenly joined the scene. Angus Clarington only looked at Judith and Russell. He knew there was a dead body only a few feet away from him, but he had just walked through the battlefield of a whole dead clan. He couldn’t bear to see another.
"What happened here?" Angus asked.
"Can’t you see Angus?" Russell turned, facing the Minister. "The Wizard Alliance saved them all."

They were furious. One of their members was dead, another was still missing. So, in the middle of the night, the Voltraic Clan continuing to plot their revenge, at last starting to put their plan into motion.
Getting into the Ministry hadn’t been as easy as they thought it would be.
With magic out, the quick ways of flooing in were out, and it wasn’t like the Ministry had an easy way of just walking through the front door, especially after hours. They had managed it though, and with a team of five, Maxmin and Bryce included, they had made their way down to the Department of Mysteries. It had taken them a bit to find their way around, but they had finally stumbled upon the Hall of Records.
In the Hall of Records, there was a file on every witch and wizard known. They were sorted by blood status, at least making their lives slightly easier. Setting down the duffel bags they each had brought with them and went to work. There was files that the vampires knew they would taking, so they went for them first. They needed more, they needed to as many kids as they could to make their statement to those god awful purebloods. So they went about grabbing what records they could. They threw the ones of parents aside, not caring for them. Come the end, as they filed up bags upon bags of files before fleeing the Hall, a mess of scattered purebloods papers and files behind.
They were planning on taking their time to sort through the pile. But then they had done it—the purebloods had killed Raoul as they broke out the rest of their Death Eater friends.
The clan had erupted with rage. First they had taken one of their members, then another, but to kill one of them? They had reached the end of their rope with these purebloods. They needed their revenge, they needed it as soon as they could achieve it. So the Council had stayed up all night to go the children’s files they had taken. The four other members narrowed it down to twenty children they could take. Sitting now with Alec, each member of the council kept their files neatly in front of them. As Alec took his seat, he spent no time in getting straight to business.
“Who do we have first?”
Victoria slid over three files over to Alec. “The Fabrays: Frannie, Quinn, and Charlie. We all think it be best to go for the twins, they are well known, more than Frannie is. Besides, it be quite interesting to see how Russell would step up to the plate when his two disowned daughters are missing. Might help end is campaign if people refuse to support him,and how wonderful it be to see that. We be doing the Wizarding World a favor.”
“And what about the brother?”
Alec looked up from the file of the twins he was reading. “Brother?”
Bryce, who had spoken, handed a file over to “William Green. He is younger than the twins, and apparently the half—”
“Half-blood,” Alec interrupted. “He is a half blood, and therefore he serves no purpose to our cause. Who do you have next?”
Three more files were handed to him from Maxmin this time. “Next are the St. James’. Like the Fabrays, there are three: Jenna, Jesse, and Jeremy. After some discussion, we think it would be best to take two of them. It shows them that can be just as calculated as they are when it comes to taking their children.”
Quickly reading over the files, Alec slid the one of Jesse away. “The oldest and the youngest. That should send that bloody Judith St. James into a heart attack, and hopefully, that escaped convict husband of hers as well.”
Jeremy and Jenna’s files were slid aside as the next were present from Maxmin. “Sebastian and Logan Smythe. Both sons of coward Death Eaters. One is a Quidditch Player, the other an Auror. We were debating on which to take, if not both. Either one or both would make a loud statement.”
Alec paused for a moment before adding only one of the files to the pile. “We take the youngest, Logan. It always hurts parents more when it is the baby of the family. Besides, the Aurors will be on our tails as soon as this breaks with the news, best not to take on of their own.”
Three files were handed to Alec again. “The Claringtons’: Henry, Harper, and Hunter.” Carmina explained, Not per say the most classic pureblood family, but the Minister’s children of anyone? It is one of the most direct hits we could take.”
“Ideally, getting all of them would be great,” Alec said, quickly glancing over each file, “However, took risky. The Ministry has them all securely protected, as if we would be able to get to any of them. Who you have next?”
“The Lestranges,” Victoria began as he handed Alec two files, “Everyone knows of them, if you bring up a Lestrange, you are bound to hear about the infamous Bellatrix. They have two sons, Price and Jensen, and a daughter, Ester. We felt as if Price and Jensen would make the best impact on them however.”
Alec just gave a nod, adding the files of Jensen and Price to the pile to be taken. Next he was handed two more files from Maxmin, and opened them up to read as his fellow Council member began to explain.
“Dave and Christopher Karofsky. Following the steps of their fellow friends, they are both Quidditch players. Now, they aren’t the most known pureblood family, but they have connections to the Fabrays, Smythes, and St. James, so it does put them up there.”
Alec looked through the pages, contemplating on the two brothers before speaking again. “They would affect our well knower families, and another pureblood family to stick it to isn’t an opportunity I will pass up. Add them in. Who is next?”
As Chris and Dave’s files were added to the pile, a single file was handed next to the leader next. “Liam McGonagall.” Bryce said. “Chaser for the Wigtown Wanderers, and of course—”
“A McGonagall?” Alec spat, “Have you lost your mind, Bryce? Minerva is one of the most powerful witches to ever walk this earth, and you propose we take her nephew? Show me who you have next.”
Tossing Liam’s file aside, Alec took the next one from Carmina, once again a single file. “This is Jacob Puckerman,” Carmina explained as Alec looked down at the picture of a young man smile in the movable picture. “Now, he is a pureblood, but has two siblings who are half-bloods, making him very low profile in the pureblood world. However, it is his celebrity status puts him up there to be taken with the rest. He would help show that no one is safe, not till Trevor is returned to us.”
Alec took a few minutes, reading over the boy’s file. “A direct attack on famous pensTV, and not to mention, his co-host is the Minister’s daughter. Besides, the more the merry, no?”
Jake’s file was added to the growing file of children to be taken as Victoria handed the last two to Alec. “Ellie and Kitty Wilde,” The woman said, “Both are Quidditch players for the league’s top two teams. And of course, there is the matter of who their father is…”
Alec let out a laugh as he leaned back in his chair slightly. “The Death Eater.” The words practically dripped with hatred. “And look where he is now! Lying here in our care, as if he is one of us. I do not care that he may share the same blood as us, we would be able to forget who Mr. Wilde once was! I bet if given the chance, he would slaughter us all!” Alec slammed his fist on the table, shooting up from his chair. He turned his back to his clan for a moment, composing himself. Turning back around, Alec picked up the files of Ellie and Kitty, adding them to the pile. “Take them both, it will keep him in line.”
In front of the Council, there now sat a pile of a twelve children. His voice remaining leveled, Alec stared at the pile of files before speaking. “Begin assigning to other members of the clan who they will be taking. Also begin the arrangements of how to take them as quietly and quickly as possible. Victoria, has a location been picked on where to take them all?”
The woman gave a curt nod to the leader. “We think the Library of Magic be best. It is a rather public location, so it will definitely draw public attention, and has enough space to hold all the children.”
“Do see all arrangements on how to get into there are done as soon as possible. I want this all done as soon as possible, and to be informed of it as swiftly too. The plan goes into action as soon as magic as back. It is time to show those purebloods that if they want to take our children, we can do just the same. An eye for an eye, no?”
Deep in the woods of England resided the Voltraic clan. For a long time, they lived in peace, hiding themselves away from the judging society that they lived miles outside of. They wanted to remain in the dark, but the flames rising in their clan and out into the public had exposed them. They were now at center eye, at the world was waiting for what was to come.
“Something has to be done!”
Flames were erupting in the Voltraic Clan. Their anger was rising in lashes, ready to burn whatever and whoever was in their paths. Two of their members, in their eyes, had been taken from them, and the clan had reached the end of their rope waiting. They were stirring, ready to bring their family home.
A new day was ready to dawn.
Once again, late in the dead of night, the Council had gathered for another meeting to discuss what to do. These past few weeks, as their rage increased, so had their Council Meetings. The council consisted of five members: The clan’s leader, Alec, and four other members: Victoria, Carmina, Bryce, and Maxmin. Currently, Carmina, Bryce, and Maxmin had risen in volume over the matter of Raoul’s imprisonment in Azkaban yet again.
Maxmin was the one who was currently yelling, his fangs threatening to come gleaming down at any minute. “Raoul has been a member of this clan for as long as we can trace our roots! And we allow him to rot away in Azkaban for a crime he didn’t commit! What kind of clan are we, to allow one of our brothers to be put through that hell?”
“So what are we to do?” Bryce yelled back. “Break into Azkaban and take him back? We all know what those retched wizards think of us, just imagine what would happen if we broke into there!”
“Raoul can handle himself for now!” Carmina jutted in, “What about Trevor? We all know the Ministry took Raoul, and then those bloody purebloods took one of our children to stick it to us for ‘breaking’ their precious magic. And with magic out now, they are coming back for another! We need to protect this clan before we lose anyone else!”
Bryce gave a scoff. “And how do we do that? They will see as nothing more than the vicious creatures they have stereotyped us already!”
“So are you saying we should just sit back and watch this clan be taken one by one and led to their Azkaban cell?”
“ENOUGH!”
It was Alec’s booming voice who broke through the yelling. The conversation came to a halt as the leader slowly walked forward, taking a place looking out the window of the room they were in. Outside, he could see his clan moving about in the night, in their own daytime. They were supposed to be safe here, in the clan. What kind of leader was he if he couldn’t protect his people?
“I agree with Maxmin, we must do something.”
“I’ll gather some men,” Maxmin said from behind, “With enough of us, we should be able to get Raoul out—”
“No.” Alec turned around, facing his council. “We do this right. To bring our family home, we must be as calucated as the Ministry and those purebloods.”
“Then what do you propose we do, Alec?’ Victoria questioned.
Walking back around the table, Alec took a place at the head, standing behind it. His cold palms were placed firmly on it as he looked between his Council members.
“We do as Carmina proposed, and get Trevor back first. As we have been able to conclude, those purebloods of the Wizard Alliance took him. However, we do not know if it is over with the situation regarding Raoul and magic. Trevor was taken for a reason, we need to unearth what that reason was. But we need to get it out of the purebloods themselves. They know how to keep a secret.”
The Council looked between themselves before Carmina asked the question on all their minds. “And how do we do that?”
Sitting down into a chair, Alec placed his fingertips together. “Have any of you ever heard of Hammurabi?”
He was greeted with shaking heads and silence.
"Hammurabi was the ancient ruler of the Babylonians. He was— extraordinary. But in his civilization, he created his own code of law. The most famous? The punishment fits the crime. An eye for an eye, as the historic phasing goes now. We will be taking a page out of his book.”
"And how is that, Alec?"
The grin on the leader’s face was small, but the wickedness that radiated from it was larger than life. Looking up, his grin only grew as his eyes glanced between each of his Council members.
“The purebloods took our children—and now, we take theirs.”
