When: 16th of February, and a flash back to when Sam was around five.
Where: Brittany's Flat in London, and Sam's childhood home.
Notes: Written for the third prompt, Sam tell his mom about his first crush.
He ran from the TV into the kitchen looking at his mum, a smile on his whole face. “I know who I’m gonna marry,” Sam said and he sat down on the floor, smiling.
“You do, Sammy?” Mary asked and she looked at him, “Want to tell me?”
“I’m gonna marry April,” Sam said and looked at her. Mary blinked a little and she looked at Sam not really sure on what Sam was talking about.
“Who?” she asked, and looked at him before walking up to him kneeling a little, “I’m not sure I know who this April is,” she said and she moved some of some of Sam’s hair away from his face.
“April, is the woman that works with Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael,” Sam said and looked at her shaking his head, “Mum, you know the girl in TMNT,” Sam said looking at her, “she’s super pretty and smart.” Sam nodded his head trying his best to get his mum to understand.
“Okay,” she said and laughed a little, “I’m glad that you’ve found a girl you like but,” she looked at him a smile on her lips, “Isn’t she a part of a cartoon that you watch?”
“I can marry her anyway,” Sam said and nodded his head, before he stood up, “Can I get some apple slices?” he asked smiling at his mother, “please,” he tilted his head to the side, looking at her, and Mary laughed a little before she nodded her head and she sliced an apple for him and handed Sam a small bowl with apple slices in it, and Sam smiled and he made his way back to the TV, and he sat down on the floor in front of the TV, and watched another couple of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Sam opened up his eyes, looking up at the roof, letting out a breath, hoping that life would go back to being this easy sometime soon, he didn’t want to think about what was going on outside of this flat, right now being that five year old and not knowing what the future was holding for him was something he could only dream off.
TAGGING → Will Green, mentions of Fearne Brown, Charlie Fabray, Russel Fabray, Harry Potter, and Will's foster parents
LOCATION → On the way back to his flat after training with Fearne.
TIME FRAME → January 15th, 7:00pm - Reminiscing about the past and being thankful for now.
GENERAL NOTES → The short time he'd played on the Gryffindor team made up some of his favorite memories from Hogwarts and he'd never forget the exhilaration of winning a match.
Growing up in foster care, with muggles plus the rare and brief appearances from Russel Fabray, meant that Will might as well have been raised like any other muggleborn. Sure, he knew magic existed, but he didn't have access to any texts on it, didn't know anything about the wizarding world aside from what Russel told him. And Russel only told him just enough to eliminate any doubt in his mind that magic was only in fairytales. It's not surprisingly that like plenty of other boys his age, Will spent ages looking at the brooms when he got to Diagon Alley. He was of course fascinated with the Wands, and the potions, and that people kept owls as pets, but he was blown away by the fact that people could fly on those! They didn't need to sit in a big hunk of metal with giant engines, just on something that'd he'd previously seen as a way to sweep out the garage when his foster dad asked him to. Will bought a book on Quidditch that day, despite his mother telling him to stick to the things on the list that Hogwarts had sent to him. He read it several times before September 1st came around and he boarded the train to the school that would change everything for him. He didn't know it when he was eleven since he didn't know any magical history, but one might've compared him a bit to the wizarding hero, Harry Potter. He didn't have grand adventures every year or become famous, and he certainly didn't defeat any Dark Lords or anything as spectacular as that. But he grew up without his parents and became enamored with the idea of flying as soon as his eyes landed on the polished wood and carefully placed bristles that made up a quality broom in the shop window. He made the team his fourth year, after getting the nerve to try out but was devastated when he was kicked off the team in his sixth year after a rather impressive prank he'd managed to pull in the potions lab. He'd unashamedly pleaded the captain to reconsider, but of course it was all up to the head of Gryffindor house and he'd needed a suitable punishment. Will was always doing detentions for pranks anyway, so his professors figured the best way to make him learn his lesson was to take him off the team. The short time he'd played on Gryffindor the team made up some of his favorite memories from Hogwarts and he'd never forget the exhilaration of winning a match. He didn't fly as much after that but it didn't mean he didn't enjoy it. He didn't feel as motivated knowing that he wouldn't be able to play with the team, and so he got a bit lax in his skills and frequent practicing. It stayed that way until this year when Fearne decided to turn him into someone fitting of the professional league. He was still skeptical but he'd missed flying more than he thought he would, and the broom Charlie had bought him flew like a dream. His muscles ached and he complained about the training all the time but he loved it and had missed it all. He'd become so wrapped up in his job and living day to day he'd forgotten the simple pleasure that flying had brought him. He was enjoying flying again, and whether he made the league or not - he was glad it had been placed back into his life.
The thought popped into Ryder's head as his eyes slipped open. He paused, but quick check-in with himself confirmed that the whole thing hadn't been a dream. His body shifted, and he couldn't help but sigh happily at the feel of the silky sheets against his skin-which quickly reminded him of the feeling of her of silky skin against his skin and he back to still wrapping his head around the fact that he'd actually had sex.
He could still remember last night, how one second the room of requirement had been a dark dueling room, and the next they were kissing, touching, and the room had given them a small romantic paradise. Kitty was taking off his shirt and-
Kitty.
Ryder's lips curved into a smile and he thoughts were filled with the small blonde; the way her eyes crinkled when smile, her favored ponytail draping down her back, the sweet spice of her laugh and he couldn't remember how anyone could ever think she was anything but perfect.
His bit his lip, slipping his arm underneath himself as he rolled over as softly as possible, trying to surprise her. "Morning K-" His smile faltered as he turned and found the bed empty, his hand reaching out and touching the flat sheets as if somehow she might be hiding underneath it.
He sat up, eyes scanning the room. His clothes, books and parchment still littered the ground but she'd grabbed hers and taken off without a trace. Ryder's heart sank, doubt and confusion creeping into his thoughts as he hugged his knees underneath him.
GENERAL NOTES → Wedding bells are ringing and Marley Rose is not going to be Marley Rose for much longer. Nerves ensue. Prompt Para
The boy grinned at her, that cocky grin that she used to find her stomach doing flips over back in her seventh year at Hogwarts. They'd gotten to be friends again, he'd forgiven her and somehow her, Jake, and Ryder were back to being the Golden Trio once more. Of course, Kitty was an added bonus but everyone knew why she tagged along. Marley turned around from the mirror and opened her arms just in time to be engulfed in a tight hug from her best friend.
"Try not to break me, Handsome. I doubt it would be good to go to St. Mungos on my wedding day." Jake just smirked at her, tapping his index finger on her nose before holding her hands in his tightly as he swung them back and forth, the sunlight coming in from the window hitting his wedding band. "Hey, maybe the 'Handsome' thing should stop. I mean, I really don't want to get killed by your fiancé." Marley rolled her eyes and hit the boy's shoulder before holding up Jake's hand that had the wedding ring on it. "Were you nervous when you..." Her voice trailed off, the nerves getting the best of her.
"More." Jake grinned, squeezing Marley's shoulder with the hand she wasn't holding. "Now c'mon, I gotta get you to Rachel. I can't believe she actually convinced you to make it so she walked you down the aisle. I mean, getting to be the fucking maid of honor and the one to walk you down the aisle? Total bull shit." Marley glared at Jake, slapping the back of his head and rolling her eyes. "Honestly, what did I tell you about cursing on my wedding day?" Jake just rolled his eyes back and gave her that cocky grin once more. "Don't you realize, Rose? I will always be there to give you hell."
With a wink, Jake left the room and Marley was left alone to collect her thoughts. The engagement ring glistened on her finger, remembering the exact day that she'd gotten proposed to. Her eyes glistened with tears but she managed to blink them away quickly. Taking off the ring, Marley set it down and turned towards the door. Once she left the room, she was immediately greeted by Rachel, the smaller brunette ecstatic as always. "You doing okay? Do you need anything? Oh my Merlin, you're not feeling faint right?"
Marley was sure that if she rolled her eyes anymore, they'd roll right out of her head so she just nodded slowly. "Yes, Rach. I'm fine. By the way, she's totally going to kill you for how you stole the whole walking me down the aisle away from--" Rachel brought a finger to Marley's lips, effectively shutting her up, to which the taller brunette just glared at her for. "We are on in five. She can murder me later." With a sigh, Marley watched as the wedding party formed a line and began to walk down, the music not having reached the traditional wedding march yet.
Soon it was almost time for her to heading down, Marley scanning the crowd from her position, hidden from view. There in the pews were friends and family, all ready to welcome the new soon to be married couple. Marley beamed when she saw Quinn, the blonde's hand interlaced gently with a smaller brunette. Quinn leaned over and pressed a kiss to Jenna's temple, squeezing her hand softly. Marley internally squealed, happy that those two had finally gotten together.
Her heart jolted however when she heard the wedding processional, watching as everyone stood. Soon she was in the middle of the double doors, watching as Rachel took her place by her side, offering her elbow. Her eyes scanned the crowd before looking forward, watching as Jake grinned at her before her eyes landed on a shining pair of hazel. Marley blushed and smiled softly, nodding at her. Kitty. There she was, looking gorgeous just like she always did. They'd been through a lot and Kitty and her had finally figured it all out. And she was happy for how it had gone, they were okay.
And then her eyes left Kitty's form to find a pair of brown eyes, ones who lit up when they realized that crystal blue were now focusing on them and them alone. A shiver ran up and down her spine as she finally took her last step, reaching forward and taking the hand that was outstretched to her. Rachel took her place next to Marley, holding Marley's bouquet of flowers with her own. Vows were soon spoken, crystal blue never leaving the chocolate brown eye that were sending her spiraling with not intention of recovering. It was then that the final part in the wedding was taking place, it was time to ask her the one question she'd been waiting for ever since they'd met in that train.
"Marley Rose, do you take Ryder Lynn to be your lawfully wedded husband--" The minister continued on with the words, Marley not being able to pay attention fully because that big, goofy grin was causing her heart to squeeze. A deep breath from herself and a squeeze to her hand from him brought her back to the present. "I do." Ryder beamed back at her, his swoop tamed down just a bit due to the insistence of Marley's mother who was now crying in the pew where she was sat at.
The minister smiled down at them from where he stood, finally ready to bring them to the culmination of the ceremony. "Well then, I do believe it is now time to kiss the bride." Ryder's grin seemed to be contagious, Marley matching his before feeling one hand on her waist and the other cupping her neck as she was dipped backwards. Her hand cupped his cheek just in time, a laugh being muffled as lips pressed together. The roar of the crowd should have been deafening but she couldn't hear it.
All she could hear as Ryder pulled away was him whispering in her ear three words that would always make her cry, even years later. They would be repeated over and over that night as they made love on their honeymoon, Jake and Kitty Puckerman having given their best friends a heads up about how good prices were for the Islands these days. Those three words would be repeated for the rest of her existence, through everything. Through happy and sad, through their first son being born and through her mum passing away many, many years later. They were his promise and he was her forever. Who was she to him? Those three words he whispered in her ear? They were the best form of love, the truest form of love and she could never see her wanting anyone else.
Love is in the air this week, or at least if you listen to Hallmark. This week we have two love prompts to stay in the festive season
Love is filled with firsts: first crush, first kiss, first love, first time, and so much more. Notes: Written for the second prompt, surprises. Brittany is out on the labs coffee run when she runs into someone she least expects.
Brittany left the ministry building and made for Brew'd Awakening for the daily coffee run she would do. Even though she'd changed job she was still put in for grabbing the coffee's. It took her a while but thanks to Jenna's advice she started writing down everyone's orders so she would stop forgetting.
The piece of parchment in hand she she opened the door to the coffee shop. As soon as Brittany stepped through the door she couldn't believe the aroma's that would waft her way. It was impossible to pinpoint just one single smile. "Hey Suzy" She smiled as she got to the counter.
"Hey Britt." Suzy smiled back to her "What are in for today?"
"These." Brittany said as she handed the parchment over.Suzy was a young women Brittany thought to be slightly older than her. She just hadn't had the heart to ask because she didn't want to insult her.
"That's a lot" Suzy responded as she read over the list Brittany had given her.
"I know. It feels like everyone's in today and everyone want coffee" Brittany joked about with the Barista. Since this was something Brittany did most day the girls had come to know each other as friends. It also helped the Suzy lived in an apartment just down the hall from Brittany's.
"Well, I'll get on with it now."
It took a little while but once all the drinks had been made and Brittany had managed to charm them to shrink them down to a size she could carry she made her way to the door. She wasn't paying to much attention when she got to the door because she went to push it the door came swinging open and smacking Brittany in the face."Ow" Brittany groaned as the door swung back.
"I'm so sorry." The women said to her.
"It's okay" Brittany responded rubbing her nose a little bit. She then took a look at the other women. It took her a few minutes but then the words "It's you" slipped from her mouth
"yes it's me.." The other women said "Wait Brittany."
"Celeste" Brittany replied looking at the women who was now stood before her. Brittany couldn't believe she was looking at her sister. She hadn't seen her in over four years and she couldn't believe how different she looked. It was then though that Brittany was pulled into a hug.
"I can't believe it's you." Celeste said not letting Brittany go. When she did though was when Brittany was given a slap "Where the hell have you been?"
"What are you talking about?" Brittany was in complete awe that not only was she actually speaking to her sister but she had just been slapped by her.
"Where have you been? The parents told me you ran away. They've been worried sick about you. It's been four years Brittany."
Brittany blinked "Wait.." her parents had told her sister than Brittany had run away "they said what."
"I have to take you home right now." Celeste said going to grab her sisters arm.
"I'm not going anywhere." Brittany replied pulling further back from her sister. The girls were slowly starting to develop a crowd of nosey people around them.
"Yes you are. Our parents have been worried sick."
Brittany just couldn't believe what Celeste was saying her "I didn't run away. You've been told wrong."
"What! You're lying."
"I'm not lying.. For now though I have to go back to work." Brittany responded looking at the women before her.
"You're not getting away that easy"
"I'm not trying to get away. I actually have to go back to work."
"Where do you work? I'll meet you and we can talk." Celeste replied.
"Okay." Brittany nodded her head. She then told her sister where she worked. Having done so she bid her goodbye and made her way back to work being thankful for magic because without it the coffee's would be cold and spilled everywhere.
Notes: Written for the second prompt, how a surprised changed Sam’s life. Sam thinks back to something that changed his life.
---
Sam blinked, he couldn't believe what just had happened, and it felt like it had been yesterday that he had found out that Brittany was pregnant. Time passed way too fast for his liking, what if he wasn't ready for this, what if he wasn't ready to be a father, what if he would end up being a bad father. There were a lot of what if questions that were running through his mind.
A breath left his lips, and he looked down on the small baby girl that laying against his chest, it was his daughter, his and Brittany’s and he prayed that he was going to be ready for this. He tilted his head down a little, brushing his lips against the top of her head in a gentle kiss. It was something about feeling the soft skin under his fingers and he looked over at Brittany. A smile slowly appeared on his face. Just looking at Brittany’s face almost made Sam believe that they could do this, even if he felt like he was too young to do something like this, he licked his lips, “We can do this,” he said, and let out a breath, he knew that he was reassuring himself more than he did Brittany.
He licked his lips, smiling a little, before he walked over to Brittany, handing her their daughter, and the smile still on his face, he needed to be confident, but he wasn't sure on how he was supposed to raise a kid when he felt like a kid himself but he was going to figure it all out, even if it took forever for him to figure it out. He looked over at Brittany, "She's perfect," Sam said, letting out a breath.
---
Sam was startled from his thoughts when he felt someone jump up on him, and he opened his eyes and he saw the familiar eyes looking at him and a big smile, and he began to laugh a little.
“Daddy!” Sam began to laugh, “We should play,” Sadie said and she began to pull on his hand a little, “We should play broom flying,” she said looking at him.
Sam nodded his head and he sat up smiling at her, running a hand over his hair before leaning down pressing his lips against the top of her head, just like he had done about four years ago the first time he had held her in his arms. “Sure,” he said and he picked her up, “Okay, get ready to fly,” Sam said and he held on to her as he began to run around the flat, “I think we should call this airplane instead.” As he saw how Sadie was holding out her arms as continued to run around the flat holding on Sadie, laughing with her.
Sam knew that even if Sadie hadn't been planned he knew that she had changed him, for the better in the end, it might have taken him sometime to realize how much Sadie had effected his life for the better.
