Fang Rui suddenly fumed. He was just one person playing dirty, but Happy was going too far. All five of them were playing dirty. They were all shamelessly hiding in a corner, waiting to reap the benefiits.
Too shameless!
Chapter 1113 of the King's Avatar
laughing so hard rn i swear hahahahahaha
well, just goes to show how hindsight is... i forgot the quote
But seriously, i...i'm glad it was set up this way. I mean the chapter before this one was clearly setting up the differences in the 'new' Wind Howl (the new style of playing due to the captain change and the ideologies of the rookies) and the 'old' Fang Rui.
Two 'belief' systems.
It's kind of a no brainer Fang Rui left his team. There was no place for him anymore, not since the change in captaincy. And Happy?
the quote above kind of sums it up for me. (where else would a piece such as Fang Rui fit?)
Happy isn't a team that is strictly following one style of play. All the teams have different styles and can play different styles, but because Happy is still so new, Ye Xiu can easily mold the team you know? And it's just a nice read.
I think (in my personal opinion) that dirty playing was getting out of favor by the newer gen (based on what i've read) because this theme of the 'two beliefs' dirty vs non-dirty playing is always "old gen" vs "new gen" players
(I mean, there is Han Wenqing. But I digress. I want to try thinking this theory out before crushing it okay?!)
I mean dirty playing is looked down on the media- and these new gen players, how were they supposed to interpret it? Most people want to stand in the light. These new gen players (to be clear, debutants during season 7 onwards) have so many influences, so many methods that they're seniors have already figured out and discovered so, truthfully, why would they still be innovative at the game IF they THINK (and think only) that they know everything that there is to know?
and suddenly, it makes sense why Ye Xiu always says "Glory is not so simple"
because people who assume they know everything are always the first to fall
so... yeah
