You recommended reggae the other day. Where's a good place to start? Like an album or what not. Cause other than the obvious Bob Marley I know nothing and I'm always interested in finding new music.
grins deviously. hiii. yesss i love reggae music. i've been freshly getting into it myself but i've got a couple solid recs. Black Roots and The Viceroys both have some really beautiful music and i think everyone doing vocals in both bands that i've heard have been a delight.
though, truthfully, whenever i wanna listen to new reggae i typically find one of those videos of '80s records uploaded to youtube to be a treasure trove. good shit there consistently. i would be hard pressed to find reggae i dislike, personally, though.
and that's not to say that you even have to like reggae itself. reggae contains a shit ton of very diverse subgenres and fusions. (and, if you like ska, ska is what birthed reggae!) as unhelpful as it is my best advice really is just fuck around, go down youtube recommended rabbitholes for music. take your chances with small and niche artists too they're delights every time.
this is mostly coming from a perspective of older reggae bands and music though honestly. i have yet to dabble in many artists that haven't been jamming since the '80s.
