Kit's Campus Stories pt 1

Some ghoul & kit interactions to show her dynamic with them. Will update periodically with more stuff that comes to mind.

Leo:

"The ghouls won't listen to you? No shit. You realize we were hand picked by demons, right?"

Ugh. Kit should have known better than to complain to Leo. Having to go to Sinostra to get their latest case report signed was already a headache, and now she had to deal with the biggest pain in her ass on campus.

Just as she was about to brush him off and go find to someone else to talk to, Kit registered what he had said to her. "Hand picked? You actually believe that?" Leo stopped walking, the two of them now standing in the middle of the walkway as snow fell around them. "There's a chance of dying if the pact doesn't work, right? That just sounds like the demons show up for anyone desperate enough to make a deal and you got lucky. What, next you're gonna tell me that you believe Darkwick's 'ghouls are our champions' crap?"

As she was talking, Leo pulled out his phone, pointedly ignoring her. "Sorry, were you saying something?" He asked once she finished, feigning apology.

"Just that you're desperate."

"And you're nobody, so why are you talking to me?"

Kit snorted and began walking again. "Sorry, didn't realize I touched a nerve. See you around!"

Tohma:

"Check mate." Kit replaced Tohma's king with her knight before settling back in her seat. "I can ask any question I want, right?"

Tohma smiled. "Those were the terms of our agreement." Their agreement being that for every game, whoever won got to ask any question that had to be answered honestly.

Her eyes narrowed, running through everything she wanted answers to. Finally, she settled on one. "What’s with the monocle?"

Tohma blinked, a slight furrow appearing in his brow. "You can ask anything you want."

"Those were the terms of our agreement," Kit repeated with a nod. "Why not glasses? Your eyesight is only bad in one eye, or did you just like the aesthetic?"

An amused smirk played at his lips. "Are you absolutely sure you want me to answer that question? It seems like a waste, doesn't it?"

"What, just because you let me win this round, you think I can't win again?"

"Now, you shouldn't sell yourself short—"

"And you should stop deflecting. I asked my question, now answer it."

For a moment, his smirk lifted into something more genuine. "As the overseer of the vault accounts, I spend a lot of my time reading. It helps me see."

"Why not just get reading glasses?"

"I'm starting to feel judged."

"The only thing I'm judging you for is your inability to answer a simple question," Kit laughed.

"I'm just giving you ample time to ask something else that may be more valuable, information-wise." Kit narrowed her eyes and stayed silent. Raising both of his hands in surrender, Tohma chuckled. "Fine, fine. When I transferred to Frostheim and found myself in need of eyewear, I decided I like how the monocle looks. That’s all."

"See? That wasn't so hard." Kit began setting the pieces back up, glancing at Tohma as he did the same. "You transferred to Frostheim? Where from?"

He smirked again. "One question per game, remember? When you win, I'll tell you."

Hehe I'm more than happy to ramble about my self insert especially for totally no reason at all. These are all just kinda mostly random facts I never have a reason to share about. LMK if you ever want more facts

He's trans, F to M. Top surgery with no real interest or care to do bottom surgery

You can tell he's in a fight with Ed when they call eachother by their full names. "Edward." "Andrew"

Loves organisation / organising things because everything should be organised otherwise it's just stressful.

Artistic, loves curling up and drawing with youtube playing in the background just for noise

Loves animals of any kind, but cats are the favorite.

Prefers wearing Hoodies and sweatpants over clothes that show off skin/form, deeply self conscious

LOVES classic cars, would absolutely spend time with Alan learning how to fix cars. Would also hangout with Ren lots to play videogames with him.

Allergic to lots of things from the outdoors ( grass, trees, pollen ) so sitting around indoors is the preferred ( much as I would love to help Haru I'm pretty sure Jabberwock would kill me TOT)

Low grade crush on Romeo. Ed has the far bigger crush / end goal relationship.

Absolutely would be the one to fall first then silently stew in misery over his feelings being certain that they'd never be reciprocated. (Waves of Love gives a whole level of freak out and crisis of 'oh shit wait...does...does he like me? do i dare hope?!' )

Also loves hanging out in Mortkranken, took advanced chemistry so would love learning more from Yuri and Jiro

Absolutely hides out with either Romeo or Ed when he doesn't want to be bothered by any of the other ghouls

Love language is acts of service. He does help Ed anytime he asks for it, even knowing he doesn't need the help because, well, how else does he show he cares.

Ahh gotta admit tho, drawing Yeon has just become one of my favorite things of all time ( evident since ive drawn him the most lol)

Kit's Campus Stories: Sho

"So are you gonna order, or..." Kit was brought out of her thoughts by a voice above her, causing her to look up from her phone and see Sho's expectant gaze.

She was so stuck in her thoughts that she hadn't noticed the line move on. "Sorry. I, uh... Never mind." Her face burned as she left the line. Kit made a beeline for a free bench nearby, looking back at her phone screen.

When someone sat next to her, she turned to ask them to leave until she realized it was Sho. "You forgot this," He said, giving her a to-go container. She didn't think much time had passed, but it was apparently long enough for him to make an order and close up the truck.

"I didn't order," Kit replied lamely.

Rolling his eyes, Sho leaned back against the bench. "You order the same thing every time."

She opened the container, and sure enough, it was her usual. It smelled amazing as always, but in that moment, all it did was make her stomach churn. "I'm not really hungry." Kit looked back at the food truck in the distance, where there was still a long line. "You didn't have to do this, but thanks. You can get back to work, now."

"A guy can't take a break? Who are you, my boss?" Kit snorted softly. "What’s up with you, anyway? Why'd you freak out?"

"I didn't freak out." Kit pursed her lips and sighed. "I just... It’s dumb." Sho didn't say anything, instead continuing to look at her, waiting for her to elaborate. "... There was this guy," She finally relented. "He asked me out, but we never ended up going on the date because of my curse. I... I just saw a post with his new girlfriend. That’s all. I know it sounds petty—"

"You had a life, and now you're watching it move on without you."

Kit leaned forward, her shoulders falling. "Yeah."

"You realize that we all know exactly how that feels, right?" Sho asked. "So, does that mean you're calling us dumb and petty?"

"Of course not. I'd only call Leo that."

Sho let out a sharp exhale as a laugh before holding out his hand. "Lemme see this guy you're all torn up about."

"I'm not torn up about him," She protested weakly, giving him the phone opened to the post.

The twisted face of befuddlement was probably the biggest reaction she'd ever seen from Sho. "This is your type?"

"Shut up!" Kit snatched her phone back with a laugh. "I don't have a physical 'type—'"

"Yeah, I can tell."

More laughter escaped as she elbowed him. "You're an asshole."

"Yeah, whatever." He smirked and propped his elbows up on the back of the bench. "From what I've seen, though, it looks like you're moving on, too."

He was right. Kit hadn't even thought about her previous life in while before seeing the social media post. "Thanks, Sho."

Curling his hand into a fist, he lightly knocked it against her arm. "Don't get sappy on me. I'd better get back." He stood and shoved his hands in his pockets. "See ya around."

"Wait! How much do I owe you?" Kit rifled through her bag to find her wallet when he stopped her.

"You didn't order. Don't worry about it."

He left before she could thank him again. Now on her own once more, she opened up her lunch container, her appetite returning.

My TKDB Self Insert

*this is still a work in progress. I kept her backstory similar to MCs for convenience but may change it in the future.

Name: Kit

Occupation: Inspector/Student

Species: Human (cursed)

House: None (was soul assigned to Mortkranken in Hyde's 'counseling' session)

Year: Second

Birthday: May 8

Artifact: Sage's ring, also got a special permit for her hair ribbon; can change length and stiffness at will, can be used as a lasso, lockpick, garrote, pretty much anything you can think of

Likes: Movies & television, art, psychology

Personality: Quiet, blunt, rational. Good at giving advice, but struggles to connect with others on a more personal level (despite desperately wanting to).

Curse: Kyklos. The effects are more visible over time, causing her eyes to turn purple and random strands of hair to turn the colors of the Kyklos flowers (red, blue, purple). Towards the end of the year (I'd say about month 10/11), if she gets that far without breaking her curse, she will be able to temporarily stun people by making eye contact.

Kit's opinions on the ghouls:

Jin: Hates him. The first time he called her servant, she blocked his account on WickChat and only communicated through Tohma for like. A week. Until Tohma pointed out that she needs to be able to work with ALL of the ghouls. She lets him use her ability from the sage's ring because she knows he can't use his stigma without it, but that is it. Begrudgingly, she admits that he is a capable leader — when he pulls his head out of his ass

Tohma: They get along, for the most part. She likes to stop by for a game of chess and tea when time allows, but gets quickly annoyed when he smugly beats around the bush of whatever is on his mind.

Kaito: She tries to give him the benefit of the doubt, but as soon as he starts self deprecating for validation, she tells him to find a therapist (and genuinely means it). She believes he could really thrive if he actually worked out his issues, but until then, conversations are very short.

Lucas: Admires his dedication, but their core opinions of Darkwick differ. He believes the ghouls are champions, she believes they're unpaid interns. They agree to disagree.

Alan: She has a crush on him, but refuses to say anything because she knows he is emotionally unavailable for a relationship (or is he 👀?) Admires his work ethic, practicality, and biceps thoughtfulness

Leo: They love to hate each other. She's able to insult Leo back in a way that not many else can, and knows just the right times to ignore him in order to deflate his ego. They eventually learn of each other's similar opinions on Darkwick and come to a mutual understanding

Sho: They can hang. It takes them a while to actually become close friends, but they have each other's backs. When she finds out Sho lied about her ability not working, she confronted him personally and they talked it out. She doesn't hold it against him, but does give him shit for it periodically.

Haru: Disapproves of him hurting himself with bahnti, but understands that it isn't his fault that Jabberwock is understaffed and the animals need to be taken care of. Helps out where she can to lighten the load

Towa: Can not get a read on him and that frustrates her to no end because she typically prides herself on her ability to read people. Still, he seems genuinely happy to see her, and he calls her Poppy.

Ren: They connect over shitty horror movies, and Kit views him as her first genuine friend. Ren may or may not have a small crush on her (have not decided yet) and she would be oblivious.

Taiga: She tries not to talk to him without a third party. Over time, she gets less nervous as she figures out how to manage his different "moods"

Romeo: She antagonizes him when he's being rude. When he starts yelling, she warns him about frown lines. He hates to see her coming bc he knows she will not tolerate his shit. Still, they're able to work well together.

Ritsu: Initially disliked him because she thought he was condescending and rude, but realized he just is kinda bad at talking to people lol. She takes her position as his "business partner" seriously.

Subaru: He reminds her of herself before she stopped apologizing for existing, which frustrates her a little bit. She tries to help him be more assertive, which brings out a more assertive side to herself as well.

Haku: She sees him as a friend, but believes he doesn't see her the same way, for some reason. Maybe it’s the fact that he introduced her to Darkwick, maybe it’s the flirting, but there's a part of her that wonders if he doesn't take her seriously. When he realizes this, he assures her that he does in fact see her as a friend and a capable inspector.

Zenji: He encourages her to see the beauty in the mundane. She sees him as one of her closest friends. Kit likes to proofread his poems and social media posts. She and Haku are his PR team.

Ed: Hates him but appreciates that he found out what her curse was and that Darkwick was lying to her.

Rui: Curse twins! Where Haku stopped flirting with her as much once he realized it was just having an adverse effect, Rui thinks that if he flirts with her more, she'll be more receptive to his advances. This results in a lot of confusion for her about his feelings for her and her feelings for him.

Lyca: Tries to teach him that girls are people and not some scary separate species. Some people think they hate each other because of how blunt they are, but that’s just how they communicate.

Yuri: Respects him but keeps him in check when he's rude. He initially belittled her interest in psychology but when she conditioned him within a week he kept his mouth shut. She likes helping in the lab when she can.

Jiro: They get along. She finds his presence calming. She personally thinks it would be better if he knew about Zenji but respects Zenji too much to go behind his back.

She almost runs over Leo and he can't tell whether or not it was an accident
