Heyyy, so I spent some time rereading a fic I wrote 5 years ago called "You're Missing A Star Sans, Buddy" and I have a few ideas. Genuinely, I have no idea if I'll have time or energy to work on it until the summer but right now, the idea wouldn't leave me.
Edit: I'm not deleting the original fic! For option A, I would just be putting it under a slightly different name, preserving the original for archive purposes!
If given the option, would you rather I:
A: Completely rework YMASSB, deleting the original
B: Make tweaks/add chapters if necessary for a better reading experience
C: Make a sequel that will ideally have a better flow
D: A combo of A and C
E: A combo of B and C

I realize there might only be, like, half a dozen votes and that's fine with me, but for any of my followers who HAVE read it and enjoyed it, what do you think? And if you haven't read it, that's alright too. (Below the cut are my thoughts on what each option would entail, in detail)
Firstly, YMASSB follows soulless Ink losing Dream and being changed irreversibly by Nightmare into Something Else, and learning some multiversal truths. This is the absolute vaguest description I can give without spoiling anything, though when I was rereading the fic, I did feel a strong sense of "what is happening??" which, while funny to remember my feelings as I wrote it the first time, was frustrating as a reader. (To those who read the original through and loved it, thank you for the confidence boost!!)
I'll not be giving my preference on what I want to do because as of right now, I don't know what that is? I'm open to each of these options, but am curious if anyone even wants something like this. So!
Option A would take the most time of any of them, and I would likely keep most of the story beats, just flesh them out and organize it under a different title to preserve the whole "archive" thing of writing.
Option B would be probably a lot of work with going through the fic chapter by chapter and updating each of them individually. The title would be preserved, but you will not be able to read the original as is anymore.
Option C is pretty self explanatory. YMASSB would get a sequel following the events of the first one, likely fleshing characters out better. The first fic would not be touched.
Felt inspired by some of @zwagyzonk sketches of G!Reaper today, but unfortunately ran out of steam to finish a full body version. But that's okay! I sketched a creature as his companion.
A small sketch is a great start, especially if you've gone a long time without drawing. I think it's been over a year, until now? I must have needed the break.
Wasn't expecting a serotonin boost from your mass of UTAU reblogs but *definitely* not complaining, I'm loving every bit of them! (And your tags for them XD) Thank you, I hope you have a great day!!
I was close-ish to catching up on all the reblogs I had meant to do and got excited, so I went for it! All caught up now! XD
Glad they’re a bright spot and hope you have a great day too! UwU
I was super nervous about tagging you with the slow burn post but reading your hashtags to the reblog made me bust into a huge smile! Thank you!! (Why is my ask feeling so formal? Lol sorry!)
my dude thank you so much for tagging me in it! <3 it was really sweet of you!
How do you go about writing fiction collaboratively, and do you enjoy it?
Here’s a post where I broke down how I write collaboratively with @decantae.
Our style of writing together has evolved a bit since I wrote that post. We’ve gone back to freely jumping POVs per character within a chapter (which is generally not ideal in writing) in our first draft. Then when we redraft it, the person who writes for the character with the dominant POV for that chapter rewrites it so that it’s purely from one perspective instead of multiple, by using the details that were written in the first draft and translating it into their character’s POV.
Does that make sense? I always have such a hard time articulating what we do.
And yes, I absolutely enjoy it! Writing collaboratively is my normal — I don’t understand how people can write solo, honestly. It’s so fun having a partner who is always as excited for the same WIPs as I am, and we can spend hours talking about them. It’s also really nice when you’re stuck, because you have someone to help you get unstuck.
Also I’m not shy about the fact that I don’t really get ideas — McH brings me most of their ideas, and I help develop it.
I wouldn’t be writing today if it wasn’t for them, I think
