I think we settled on Japan, actually. So I guess that means Tokyo? There’s supposed to be shopping involved and I’m not sure where else to do that there.
That’s really great, Britt. I’m proud of you for doing what you want instead of just letting everyone else pressure you into what they think you should be doing. You’re going to kill it no matter how long it’s been since you’ve gone, I’ve got faith in you.
NOTES: Santana finally gives Brittany her birthday gift because I'm the slowest writer to grace planet Earth.
SANTANA:
It wasn’t at all unusual for Santana to be spending time with Brittany. No, if anything it was unusual for her to be spending time with just about anyone else. Despite their breakup, Santana had tried to keep their friendship whole by doing everything that a normal best friend should do. They texted, the hung out, they did a little bit of gossiping and everything was alright. Everything was okay. They’d been broken up for quite awhile now, and there was a point where Santana wasn’t sure things would ever be okay again, but with the passing time came healing.
She hadn’t ever brought up the uncertainty with anyone at first, maybe Quinn once in passing but she wasn’t sure if the admission had really even mattered, but now she found herself wondering why she’d been so stupid. Brittany wasn’t ever going to just cast her aside whether they were dating or not. Brittany was a special kind of person, one that Santana often had trouble keeping up with emotionally, but she was also the kind of person that had let her take her time, let her catch up. It worked. They worked.
Now, poised with a fist to knock at the blonde’s apartment door, Santana waited patiently after having taken a step back while adjusting the gift bag within her grip. Bringing Brittany’s birthday gift to the actual celebration would have just weighed both of them down—that and she actually wanted to be able to tell if she actually liked her gift and the club’s dim lighting and loud music would have made that a bit difficult.
“C’mon, B, open up,” she called out through the door, hearing shuffling from beyond it. For a moment she thought that maybe it could have been Lord Tubbington, but the shadows flickering in the small patch of light peaking out from underneath the door said otherwise. “The hallway is freezing so unless you want me turning into a popsicle you’d better let me inside.”
askingbrittany-pierce replied to your post:Are you interested in anyone right now?
Ohhh, is she a super secret pod person? Totally jealous if she is by the way.
Well I don't know. How would I go about fact-checking that without being insulting?
No, she's good, though. Super chill. She has a great laugh and uncanny accuracy when she's chucking Reese's Pieces into my mouth across the couch. And she's really pretty, so there's that, too.
SANTANA: I'm really, really proud of you, by the way. I knew you'd get it. /And/ I know that you're going to do extremely well. You're going to show them all up.
