What's the last song you listened to?
Throwback to this.
Finn, if you need a new phone then I’m sure Kurt would be more than happy to oblige in purchasing you a new one. He and I share a love of shopping and that extends even to the purchasing of electrical goods. I’m sure he would leap at the opportunity to be the arbiter of your taste, albeit in a small and non-clothing related way.
I’m sure he would, but it’s okay. I have it handled, or I will eventually. There are some really nice thing about not being tied to one all the time. My grades are better than ever and my boss has learned he can’t get a hold of me except hen I’m supposed to be at work. I totally recommend going without a phone for three months.
Anyways. How are you, Rachel?
Summer classes seems like a good idea, but I’m kind of going to enjoy having a break from school for a while. I’m not nearly ready to have things figured out and I don’t think grad school is in the cards for me. Hopefully things will sort of just, work out.
No ‘hopefully’ about it. Things are totally gonna work out for you. I might think that even more about you than I do about anyone else.
I didn’t think school could actually do that to people, but you proved my theory wrong. Hopefully, your finals will go smoothly and you’ll be done with school unless you go for graduate school…Look on the bright side, maybe you’ll get some fancy new phone no one has yet and everyone will be so jealous! As for your question, I’m doing well, trying hard to survive my own finals. How about yourself…excluding the whole phone breaking situation.
Thank you. I wish you the same luck. I’m not done yet, though. I still have another year because I started late and lost some stuff in the transfer on top of it. I’ll get there, though. And I might go for graduate school. We’ll see what happens.
That would be awesome. The new HTC looks pretty dope if you’ve got the money laying around for it. I might go for the cheaper small iPhone, though. Other than school, I’m good. I’ve been working at a drum store and I think I’m up for a job tutoring over the summer. Me and Kurt see each other in passing. Stuff like that.
Has your mom met Jamie? If she hasn’t, that might be a fun trip. Maybe?
I’m doing really well, just trying to survive the remainder of my first year with my head above the water. Things have been really busy, but good. I’ll probably actually stick around Boston for the summer. You could always come visit me!
She has. It might be a fun trip anyway. Or we might try for a grown-up kind of trip if we decide we’re okay with being grown ups.
Head above water is always good. Yeah, I would love to, let’s set that up for sure.
Darn it. I think that’s one of the awesome things that comes along with being an adult. It sucks. The fact that I am an optimist. And I swear my shelf was easier to reach this week.
I haven’t worked out if the benefits of being an adult are worth it all. Are you that unhappy with how tall you are? I think you look great as-is.
Do you own a favorite pair of jeans?
Should I? Really, I don’t mind any of the ones I have. I kinda find one I like and buy a few copies of the same thing so that helps.
Netflix and Chill or a night out?
They both have their benefits. Right now I could go for a night out, definitely. I’m sure after finals, it’ll be all Netflix and chill.
I hope you’ll be less busy soon! And I’ve got a spare phone lying around that you could use, if you want to? I’m doing fine - quite busy as well, but the fun kind of busy.
It’s not looking good, but my coping skills might get better. Actually, yeah, that would be great if you have one. This is the first problem I’ve had since I moved, so I don’t have, like, a stock or anything. I think my parents have a drawer full of old phones at home, but I’ve got nothin’.
What’s the fun kind of busy?
At least it didn’t completely swallow you. Do you have any fun plans for once it’s summer and you aren’t swallowed whole anymore?
Not yet, anyway. School, work, probably a trip to Ohio if I can’t convince my mom to come here. I think Jamie wants us to take a trip, it just depends on money and time really. I don’t even know where we’d go. What about you? How’s Boston? How are you? I haven’t talked to you enough since you moved because I’m a slacker.
Was it a puppy?? I’m good, tired of school, but good. I think I’ve grown an inch.
It definitely was not a puppy. I’m tired of school, too. I feel your pain, literally. It’s in my joints and it makes it really hard to get up in the morning. What makes you think you’ve grown an inch?
At least we’re both almost finished and we won’t have to worry about it very soon. I’m counting down the days until I can take a real breath, even though I know after graduation is going to cause a whole new set of problems.
A break would be great. I have a couple classes this summer because I’m still working through transferring and starting late and failing a class in the fall. But yeah, I mean graduation means you have to get ready to function -- or decide to be a grad student instead.
what kind of TV do you have?
A laptop.
How's the girlfriend?
She’s good! Thanks for asking. She got into her graduate program here, which is a huge relief. We hit kind of a rough patch while she was dealing with that and we almost broke up, but... I don’t know. It’s good. She’s thrilled she got in and I’m really proud of her.
Dude, you’re totally cut off. Least from a school point of view, that’s probably a good thing, right? Gives you less time to be distracted by other stuff and you can study more. I’m good though, last day to drop any of my courses was Friday, but I think I’m good with all of mine. Or at least I’m hoping so. Plus, work’s been busy thanks to Batman vs. Superman.
Yeah it’s been helpful for that at least. I still feel kinda like someone cut my arm off and I’ll replace it as soon as I get a chance. It’s great to hear you’re doing well, though. How is that - I figured it could either be really awesome or really crappy with no in between.
You poor soul. Did you at least get a ton of candy on Easter? Cause candy makes everything better.
I got something else for Easter. It was at least as good as candy. How are you?
I think I might be even more stressed than you, I’m just used to handling it because I’m normally in some state of high stress. My finals start at the end fo the month so things are even worse than normal right now.
Yeah, you usually are. I totally understand that, though. I’m in the sweet spot between my last round of midterms and finals - which means every paper or project my professors have dreamed up is happening now.
