“The world’s eyes looking down cause we seem different.
We got each other and who cares who knows?
If ignorance is bliss, why they still bitchin’?
Haters, eat our dust, cause the wind’s gonna blow.” [x]
-Hold On by Adam Lambert
Red is assertive, daring, determined, energetic, powerful, enthusiastic, impulsive, exciting, and aggressive. Red represents physical energy, lust, passion, and desire. It symbolizes action, confidence, and courage. The color red is linked to the most primitive physical, emotional, and financial needs of survival and self-preservation.
Tina has always found a liking towards the color red. Along with blue, that color is the one she has always felt comfortable wearing and a color she thinks is easy on the eyes. She likes to think that red represents her personality and what she stands for. She wore a lot of red even way back in her "goth/punk" phase, because it was a bold color and it made her stand out a little bit more because she wasn't capable of doing it herself.
Despite being Asian and having a mother that cooks her Asian dishes on a daily basis, Tina eats a lot of more "mainstream" and Western kind of food such as pizza, pasta etc. She will always hold a special place in her heart for her mom's chicken noodle soup, as it has been her favorite dish since she was a little girl. Her mom makes them rather rarely, so that's why she thinks it's special, because it's not an everyday dish she could get whenever she wanted.
Tina loves watching movies, and prefers spending her weekends relaxing with a friend or two, popping some good movies - both the ones she had seen 500 times before or something she had never seen before. Her favorites can go from Matilda to Sweeney Todd, or even Hairspray and all the way to This Means War. Her movie taste is broad, but she is definitely someone who prefers either horror or something that will put her in good mood. She couldn't really pick a favorite movie if she tried.
As well as her movie taste, Tina's music taste is just as big. You would most likely find her dancing around to Florence + The Machine and Bjork, or belting out to Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair. She listens to the radio occasionally, but she spends most of her time going off her own playlist. Back in her goth phase, she stated on her Facebook profile she was interested in hardcore death metal, which was a total false statement as she hadn't even actively listened to it - most people probably didn't realize she was just being mocking the typical stereotype people assumed her to be because she dressed a certain way.
Tina is a sucker for all things fashion, and loves clothing stores. Tina dresses just about the same way all the time, but has a variety of dresses in different colors and patterns she usually gets from the same stores. Her go-to stores are Forever 21 and Modcloth. She loves online shopping, and gets about half of her closet from online stores she spends awfully a lot of time browsing through. She is also madly in love with Bath and Body Works.
As much as she'd love to, Tina doesn't spend a lot of time reading books in her free time. When she gets the opportunity to, however, it is mostly being invested in horror and crime books. She loves Stephen King's books such as Bag of Bones, The Shining and Night Shift. Sitting in the living room on a cold winter's night with hot chocolate and cuddled up in a blanket by the fireplace reading a horror book would probably be her ideal night if she needed some alone time.
For a feminist like herself, Tina often finds herself relating or loving the strong female characters more than any of the other characters. A huge bonus if they're Asian. She has a deep admiration for Cristina Yang fromGrey's Anatomy, for one. She thinks Carrie White from the movie Carrie is pretty bad-ass too. And she is sort of a sucker for females who aren't afraid of being themselves and confident in their own skin despite not being a part of society's ideal body image.
There are times where Tina can listen to the same song over and over for a month, and there are phases where she would switch favorite songs every day. As of right now, she is in a phase where she only listens to music she relates to, considering she's in a weird state where she has a lot of bottled feelings she does not realize she has until she finds herself surprisingly relating to a song. For now, her favorite song to listen to is Gravity by Sara Bareilles, and if she was gonna be completely honest, she always sheds a tear or two while listening to it.
Tina hasn't traveled a lot in her life. Whenever her and her parents went off to vacation, it would be only to visit other family members out of state, such as Texas or Florida or Illinois or states closer to Ohio. She can honestly say New York is the greatest place she's ever been in and the fact that she lives there is just a big life blessing to her. She loves being in a city that is just as big as herself - if not bigger, but bigger is better than a small town where almost no opportunities was handed to her to develop herself.
Puck is definitely more into 'dudeish' colors. Such as red, blue, green, grey, black. I'd have to say that red and black are definitely his favorite though, but anything dark works too.
FAVORITE FOODS:
I see Puck being big into meaty foods (excluding pork, obviously) such as steak, chicken, and hamburgers. Also, anything that has to do with waffles and egos since he is visibly upset over them being stolen from him at juvie. He enjoys chocolate as well since I can see him being into sweets and he definitely loves ice cream too.
FAVORITE MOVIES:
To put it bluntly, Puck digs action movies. Anything with explosions, fights, gore, etc is definitely his kind of thing (Braveheart, for example). His nerd side pops out as well when it comes to movies since he loves anything with superheros in it, such as: The Avengers, Iron Man, Spiderman, X-men, and The Hulk, but these are just a few examples of the movies he watches. But of course, Puck's all time favorite movies would be the Star Wars saga which can definitely show his 'secret' nerd side too. Puck also enjoys horror movies as well. Basically anything that gets bloody. Oh, he likes Harry Potter too because I said so. Oops, oh well.
FAVORITE MUSIC:
In my mind, Puck listens to anything to everything. This varies from country all the way up to rock. He is not picky when it comes to music, except maybe really girly songs, but that can also be an exception too since he has sang Taylor Swift. He keeps his interest in 'girl songs' on the down low though. Anything by Jewish Artists, or classic rock is probably his favorite, but I see him being as much into country music as well for some reason.
FAVORITE STORES:
Game stop so that he can buy video games. Walmart would definitely be somewhere he'd shop too since they sell pretty much everything and it's cheap. Any kind of sports stores such as Sports Authority or Big 5. Maybe Pac Sun since some of the outfits he has worn could be bought from there. He does most of his shopping online, because I can't really see Puck going out and buying clothes with this friends. That's just too girly for him. I don't see him being picky where he shops from as long as it looks good on him and it's decently priced.
FAVORITE BOOKS:
Puck doesn't exactly.. read. Maybe a sports magazine here and there if he gets bored enough, but I can't see him sitting down and reading a book - no matter how good it might be. It's just not his personality and he will probably always be like that.
FAVORITE CHARACTERS:
From movies? Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vadar and Iron Man - for an obvious reason, they're both badass. From TV shows? Dean Winchester. Mostly because he feels like he relates to him. He's badass, gets laid whenever he wants it, and puts up a front like nothing is wrong, when deep down, he's just as broken as anyone else around him is. He would never admit that though, especially since he feels like it's kind of lame to relate yourself to someone who doesn't exist.
FAVORITE SONGS:
Like I said for his favorite music section, everything and anything. Even some that may offend people, such as Blurred Lines which is definitely one of his favorite songs. He also has admitted to loving songs by the Jonas Brothers and Justin Bieber, so he's into the top 40 as well. His favorite song of all time is What's Goin' On by Marvin Gaye and his current favorite song is probably Radioative by Imagine Dragons, or Thrift Shop by Macklemore.
FAVORITE PLACES:
Anywhere but Lima. Really though, Puck just likes to be wherever he feels comfortable and right now, that's in New Haven with Quinn. Anywhere that he can see Beth as well, for obvious reasons. The choir room would high on his list too even if it's in Lima. That room is where he became a man and it just means a lot more to him than he would probably ever to admit to himself or anyone else.
