Hyper focus of the day:-âš Bear & Wolves
Do you ever just wonder "why do scissors exist" and instead of just thinking of the most obvious answer, you go do research to scissors for 3 hours and 57 minutes or longer?? (the picture is because I was wondering why the grading system is like it is đ )
Obsession IS the reward, he thought, speaking Tumblr,
the adhd hyperfocus demands i code a website from scratch
Now I already have a long weekend and I had so much in mind and unfortunately only managed half of it. That's the problem when you have ADHD, you start one thing motivated and suddenly something else comes and you leave what you started and start the next thing you also don't finish.
My biggest fucking problem is the hyperfocus that I can't control đŁ
This often happens:
* Food, sleep or breaks are forgotten
* other important tasks remain
* one "loses time"
* social contacts are in the background
* it's hard to get out again
* Frustration arises when the focus is suddenly gone
I wanted to continue writing my fanfics, which I started with but suddenly something else came up where I focussed on. The uncontrolled situation annoys me.
What also happened to me is that I got addicted to my ADHD. No drugs, but when I was younger I had an unhealthy attitude towards the consumption of alcohol, later shopping addiction and eating disorder were added.
...And you actually know that it doesn't do me any good - but I can hardly stop.
Questions you ask yourself... constantly
Why one is so intense.
Why it's hard to let go.
Why some things feel like an internal magnet.
And when I'm a mother, everything is all the more intense.
What helped me:
* less perfectionism
* more relief
* clear routines
* Breaks without a guilty conscience
* Understanding your own brain
* Accept support
I am not lazy or incapable. My brain just works differently.
Remember all the things and media i used obsess over and watch repeatedly that i just don't like as much anymore, but i still value it deeply because it formed a part of me. When i like something, and it lasts a very long time, it feels as though I'm growing with my hobby or passion or hyperfocus or whatever it is and that's why i look upon my previous interests the way someone remembers at a dead friend.
ADHD is when you CANT stop what youâre doing because if you do, youâre going to lose your train of thought/creative flow, except you have that feeling EVERY time you try to transition to doing different tasks. Except, its not an irrational feeling, because every time you DO transition from one task to another, you lose that focus, and you cant focus again when you come back to the task. And the task never gets done.
