ainsley kelly is the classic youngest child--the baby of the family who can seemingly do no wrong and is used to always getting what she wants.
though none of the kelly girls were coddled by their parents, ainsley has always come the closest to it
since she always gets away with things in the eyes of her parents (sometimes letting others take the blame...) she’s developed a bit of a god-complex
she’s been an overachiever her whole life, from learning to talk and read before the average benchmarks (and more notably, at a younger age than her sisters had) to never getting a final grade any lower than an A- throughout high school (AP classes too, obviously.)
she was the captain of her high school cross country team and continued to thrive at the sport throughout her undergrad years at ucla.
while ainsley’s success was majorly due to her natural talents and abilities, some of it could definitely be attributed to the way she’s perfected the art of sucking up to whoever she needed to, most frequently her parents, teachers, coaches...people who could help her get ahead. (but never her sisters, they don’t fall for that bullshit)
because while she’s able to lay on the charm and the sweetness and the always present and pleasant smile when important adults are around, most of her peers know that she’s kind of a bitch, to put it simply.
when ainsley doesn’t like someone or something, she has no filter and doesn’t hold back. she’s really never afraid to speak her mind, which isn’t always a bad thing.
she’s also overindulgent in more ways than one. definitely a partier and always in search of a good time in whatever form; shots of flavored vodka, hot girls, drugs, you name it...remember that god-complex?
honestly? ainsley doesn’t really care about school or the achievements or the family business she was always destined to end up at, following in her sisters’ footsteps. she just knows what her parents want and expect of her, and she’s a master at appeasing them.
which is why she did what kelly’s do and went into civil engineering for school, and she’s currently in the master's program at ucla...the very same program as her much older sister astrid.
she currently holds an internship at kelly properties, working on a project supervised by her eldest sister aria, and also wherever else she’s needed in the firm.

has a lowkey passion for photography but never super seriously pursued it since it would just be seen as a waste of her time (and not something she necessarily deems a plausible career anyways)
although their relationship can be brutal sometimes, ainsley and her sisters are super close through and through. they make it a priority to get brunch together at retrograde every weekend. ainsley also hits up retro whenever there’s a good enough reason for her to be there (which there always is--alcohol and hot women being two)
she’s pretty materialistic tbh and will judge based on appearances...if the covers not interesting why bother reading the book!
