"You got yourself in a dangerous zone Cause we both have the fear, fear of being alone And I still don't understand it You don't mess with love, you mess with the truth And my heart don't understand it Understand it, understand it Why I got you on my mind You think you know somebody."
Ellie Goulding, On My Mind
Lover - The Light Around You
The new single, out now.
You Fuck Me Up
Even when you're not here. You wave like nothing happened As if You never stepped on hearts Never watched us bleed Never gave half ass apologies. I'm sure you smiled And I'm glad I didn't see that Because I know The damage you could've done to me With a flick of you eyes The turn of your lips Is there sadness Behind your eyes? Do you miss me? Would you lie? As if It never mattered As if I never mattered As if I never.
More To Sorry
I was raised on a specific breed of apology. Step One: Apologize- I am sorry for doing the thing, Step Two: Recognize the effect- that resulted in the bad thing that happened. Step Three: Commit to change- I won't do it again. Step Four: Ask For Forgiveness- Will you forgive me? No one could just say "I'm sorry" or respond with "Its okay". You had to say it, you had to mean it. There was no half-assed apology, it wasn't how we were taught- wasn't how I was trained. Fault had to be taken. Forgiveness had to be asked for. Then, it had to be given. When I became an adult, that is how I would say sorry. I would get "It's okay" after almost every apology. It hurt, to feel like no one would forgive me, just shrug at my apology. When others would apologize to me, it never went like that. I couldn't understand, were they sorry they hurt me but not sorry for what they did? Because that happens.. Or were they sorry for the last part of the story and not the beginning and middle that they helped create? Sorry is almost always just sorry to everyone else... But not to me.
We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't laugh anymore What was all of it for Ohh, we don't talk anymore, like we used to do... I just heard you found the one, you been looking You been looking for I wish I would have known that wasn't me Cause even after all this time I still wonder Why I can't move on Just the way you did so easily Don't wanna know Kinda dress you're wearing tonight If he's holdin onto you so tight The way I did before I overdosed Shoulda known your love was a game Now I can't get you out of my brain Ohh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't laugh anymore What was all of it for? Oh, we don't talk anymore Like we used to do I just hope you're lying next to somebody Who knows how to love you like me There must be a good reason that you're gone Every now and then I think you might want me to Come show up at your door But I'm just too afraid that I'll be wrong Don't wanna know If you're looking into her eyes If she's holdin onto you so tight the way I did before I overdosed Should've known your love was a game Now I can't get you out of my brain Oh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore (We don't we don't) We don't talk anymore (We don't we don't) We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't laugh anymore (We don't we don't) What was all of it for? (We don't we don't) Oh, we don't talk anymore Like we used to do Like we used to do Don't wanna know Kinda dress you're wearing tonight If he's giving it to you just right The way I did before I overdosed Should've known your love was a game Now I can't get you out of my brain Oh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore (We don't we don't) We don't talk anymore (We don't we don't) We don't talk anymore Like we used to do We don't laugh anymore (We don't we don't) What was all of it for? (We don't we don't) Oh, we don't talk anymore Like we used to do (We don't talk anymore) Don't wanna know Kinda dress you're wearing tonight (Oh) If he's holding onto you so tight (Oh) The way I did before (We don't talk anymore) I overdosed Should've known your love was a game (Oh) Now I can't get you out of my brain (Woah) Oh, it's such a shame That we don't talk anymore
