As I said in the choice, my favorite game is Skyward Sword. And! Unlike with most of the Zelda games I like/enjoy, I've actually gotten to play skyward sword (didn't make it to skyview temple. Am cowardly and slow at playing games :')

I've played botw on and off for several years now, and have never defeated calamity ganon, waterblight, flameblight, or thunderblight either. I've only fought windblight. I have! Gotten on three out of the four divine beasts tho! And I've gone through the Yiga hideout a couple times, but never completed it cuz I don't like jump scares when I'm trying to get to a shrine or whatever.

Skyward Sword, I got to the deep woods section of faron, but got scared by a bokoblin. I haven't played since then (I don't have a switch to play on, I was playing on my brother's switch) kinda a similar thing that happened with Stray. I was about to get to the Rooftops chapter but chickened out and I haven't been able to play since :'(

I really like skyward sword cuz I think it was the first Zelda game that I really watched my siblings play. We have twilight princess and windwaker, and eventually we got botw when it was on the wiiu (I still have it too, shit's ancient) (it has drift in both of the wiggle stick things) (forgor what those are called :')

I wasn't super interested in twilight princess (probably because of the darker graphics, idk) and my siblings didn't play windwaker super often, so skyward sword was the main Zelda game.

I love the graphics. I love the music. I love the dungeon design. Boss design could've used a biiiit more work (looking at you, tentalus and scaldera) but otherwise they're okay. Character development?? Groose's arc?? I love groose. And the expression for all the characters??? Link can actually smile!? (Botw and TotK link could never)

And obviously, the game is "where everything began" n stuff, so it's also got that intrigue.

Most of the complaints I've heard people have with skyward sword is that 1- too linear, and 2- the motion control stuff.

Which. When I played, I didn't see too much of a problem with the linearity of the story. Yes, I knew exactly what to do/where to go to find the big birb (fucking love the loftwings) and I might've gotten a little impatient with that aspect, but other than that, it didn't seem horrible with what little I played.

And the motion controls, I do have a little problem with. Mainly in how it's super easy to accidentally make link lose all his stamina in three swings :')

^ this is all being said by someone who hasn't fought a boss with these problems, so, my opinion might change if I ever do end up finishing a Skyward Sword playthrough (unlikely, I am a coward)

Okay! Hold on! I was thinking about it again and:

I always wondered WHY Link had to go through so many tests in the game:

-finding all 3 sacred flames to get the Master Sword to its max strength (why no have it to its max strength from the start? It was hidden in Skyloft anyway? -going through the Silent Realms to make his soul "grow" (why would you need your soul to grow to wield a sword?)

(Even finding the place where the Triforce was required Link to be approved by the 3 Dragons and the Great Sage!)

Then I thought about this: If Ghirahim really is a Master Sword who got corrupted...

Then what if all of these tests where here to prevent it to happen AGAIN...?
