Hello, anon! Another LoZ Link x Reader, yay! Though I’ve been on a chain of Linked Universe x Reader requests, my askbox is always open for LoZ Link specific stuff! To the anon who sent me a LU art request, I’ll respond to it sometime tomorrow because I’m just about done with it!

Anyways, I decided to go with Skyward Sword Link for this one! Sorry for the delay!

I’ve Never Seen Someone Fall So Gracefully

Though Y/N grew up alongside Link and Zelda, and was their mutual childhood friend, she felt like she was third wheel. Link and Zelda clearly liked each other. They were protective of each other and were willing to fight each other’s battles. They always looked so happy together and frequently went on Loftwing rides together. Heck, they were even training together to become knights.

Y/N felt like she was the just kinda there person of the friend group. Both Link and Zelda came to her for help and comfort. Link was the more frequent one who came to her. It struck her as odd, why wasn’t he going to Zelda for this? Didn’t he like her more?

When Zelda had been kidnapped, Link all but ran to go save her. If Y/N was the one that got captured instead, would Link be this desperate to save her? Probably not… When Link was all equipped to leave Skyloft to go save Zelda, he came over to Y/N to say goodbye for now. Surprisingly, he gave her a tight hug and a forehead kiss. He’d only done that with Zelda, what had Y/N done to deserve the same treatment?

Link would periodically come back to Skyloft. To upgrade his equipment, restock his supplies, to rest on a comfy bed, and to visit his friends for a bit. He’d always make it an effort to hang out with Y/N for a bit, even if it was a short visit. He’d tell her what had been happening and the things he saw on the surface. Link looked more tired than usual every time he came to visit, which worried her, but what did worry her as well was that this journey was just making Link and Zelda slowly grow even closer. She feared she was going to lose both of them; both in the sense of them staying alive, and them getting so in love with each other that they’d forget Y/N and focus only on each other.

When Link had spilled the beans that Zelda was essentially the mortal vessel for Hylia, Y/N immediately knew that she was no longer eligible as competition. How would she compete with the literal goddess of the land? She was immensely jealous. Zelda might have the Hylia’s powers, so she’d be able to give Link whatever he wanted, when he wanted it. She knew she might be able to do the same, but she wouldn’t be able to magically do it immediately like a goddess could.

When Y/N saw Link and Zelda holding hands, that settled they were together now. Though Y/N was jealous, she wasn’t mean spirited enough to pry them apart. Since she had been feeling like a ghost to them the last few years, neither of them would notice if she stopped hanging around them. Right? For a while, she had thought they didn’t notice that she had suddenly stopped hanging around them.

But Link and Zelda did notice that Y/N stopped hanging around them. They had a sneaking suspicion that Y/N was avoiding them because she thought they were together. So they were both going to corner her in separate instances. But it was more of Zelda trying to set Y/N and Link up together. She knew they liked each other and she thought that Link was more compatible with Y/N.

Gah, why does Link keep cornering her! Shouldn’t he be spending time with his girlfriend? Despite this, she couldn’t stop herself from falling even harder for him. She was suspicious that this was a setup for something by someone, but she couldn’t quite prove it or who it was. She still enjoyed spending time with Link, even though she had been trying to avoid him.

Zelda knew her plan was working. Link and Y/N were getting affectionate with each other. Doing things like holding hands, cuddling, and staring at each other with hearts in the eyes. Bit by bit, Y/N was avoiding Link less and less. Would they eventually kiss?

Zelda was sneakily watching them on a date. She was hidden close by, but she knew for sure that she wouldn’t be noticed unless she was noisy. The date was kinda boring for a while; stop talking so much! Then she saw them lean closer to each other. Were they finally going to do a real kiss?

Oh my goodness, they did! She clamored out of her hiding spot once the kiss was finished to congratulate both of them. It startled them both, making them both turn red. But neither of them weren’t mad. Zelda had helped them become a happy couple.

I keep forgetting to share pics from the con I went to a few weeks ago. I didn't finish my wig for SS Zelda, but the rest of the outfit was pretty cute.

Didn't get many Brendan pics, but I was excited to find these magma grunt cosplayers.

This con was fun but waaaay too crowded. Not sure I'll do this one again. However, the one I went to in March was awesome! It was more game focused. Got a lot of really cool stuff from that one.

My sister was May. And one of our con friends that we met up with was Ethan.

My sister wants to have a new cosplay for every con. Meanwhile, I just keep cosplaying Brendan because making new cosplays is hard. And also his shorts are comfy and easy to wear (especially in this heat)
