TLTS Daffy lore (a thread for anyone interested)
Feel free to add on to it, I got all this from my first viewing of the whole show, might watch again in the future.
1) Despite Daffy being well-equipped in doing illegal acts, he seemed the most anxious about going to actual prison compared to Bugs.
2) Daffy was bullied so bad in highschool that his subconsious repressed the memory.*
3) Daffy doesn’t have any memories after he’s 15. Could be from the highschool trauma… also possibly, parental issues. He lacked any real ambitions as an adult aside from his chair… and he suggests that he ran away from home due to constantly bickering parents. So he likely had a troubled home and school life. His only positive memory was his grandma.
4) Daffy in one episode described school as prison; “Do your time”, etc. and in a separate episode, calls highschool: “the greatest time in your life”. And expanding on that second part, he flip flopped between it being comparable to prison, and it being “his peak” pre-remembering his trauma(see #2).
So Daffy is chronically incapable of recalling or establishing solid opinions on his past experiences. Likely cuz his subconscious would never want to confront them unless he unwittingly puts himself in a position where that repressed memory is bound to get triggered.
5) Daffy has a running gag(?) of mistaking baby boys as girls. Idk if I’m stretching it with my limited memory — but he might have constantly nonconformist views on gender because as a kid, his main role model was likely his grandmother, and she likely inspired him to enjoy the decadance and luxury of beautiful material things (jewellry, comfort items; his chair, purses/clutches/etc, going to an opera).
Daffy’s gender nonconformist ways could stem from his grandmother enabling that part of him. So he’s confused as fuck about gender, and even the concept of gender roles. But at the same time, had been exposed enough to the latter, that he kind of “adopts” 2010 society’s western view of gender roles. But Daffy (imo) is super fluid in that aspect, if not at least, gender nonconforming.
6) Daffy struggles with remembering his birthday…
