I’m still ruminating on the next chapter of LA but in the meantime I came up with some cute Satinalia traditions for Fenris and the Agents of Fen’Harel in The Lone Wolf’s Call (bonus points if you recognize the movie reference):
Satinalia, with the festivities lasting an entire week, did indeed turn out to be a spectacle, glowing lights floating through the air in the compound that Fenris suspected were Ladarawen’s doing, given their propensity to follow her around whenever she appeared. Dalish and city elf alike caroused and sang drinking songs around the fire while the sound of children’s laughter echoed through the streets as they played what Taralin explained was an old game, called wolves and rabbits. Seri, egged on by the sparkle in Taralin’s eye, reluctantly taught Fenris one of the songs. He joined in shyly once Taralin had poured him enough of the syrupy-sweet celebration wine that was being passed around freely, apparently a specialty of one of the Dalish families living in their aravels in the small oak tree grove in the northeastern corner of the compound. Each night, once the younger children had been shooed away to bed, fingers sticky with sweetmeats and honeyed pastries, the songs turned to stories, most of which were told in Elvhen and which Fenris therefore didn’t understand. On the eve before Satinalia proper, however, Seri sat at Fenris’ shoulder and, with a mild scowl on her brow, translated the lengthy tale told right before midnight by one of the Dalish elders.
“If you’re gonna live among us, might as well understand some references,” she said, and under her breath told him the tale of a young hunter at an Arlathvhen who, having drunk too much with his friends at the nearby hot spring on the night before Satinalia, found himself not in his own aravel but in one belonging to a neighbouring clan. Since this clan traded extensively with his own, many of the items in the aravel resembled or were exactly the same as his own, therefore leading him to believe, in his drunken state, that someone had simply moved his belongings around, not that he was in a stranger’s home. In what Fenris deemed an unlikely series of events, the arrival of the proprietor of the aravel, a young and talented musician of the neighbouring clan, initially led to conflict but eventually to attraction and then to love, yielding a strangely charming love story.
“It’s just a story, but it’s sweet, and an elder has to tell it every year. It’s tradition,” Seri said firmly in response to Fenris’ dubious look after the telling was complete.
Taralin, at Fenris’ other elbow, hummed once everyone had toasted the elder. “I’ve always wondered if the hunter didn’t just see the musician at the Arlathvhen before and decide to infiltrate his aravel. Hey, I’m not saying that wouldn’t be a creepy plan,” he quickly added, in response to Seri’s scathing look, “But I’ve never been so drunk that I wouldn’t recognize my own house. And I’ve been very drunk.”
Fenris found himself laughing when Seri started arguing with Taralin about the details of the story, belly warm from the wine and the company. His own love story, he thought, was perhaps less than believable, too – he had, after all, fallen in love with a legend, and been shocked to know that she loved him back.

I'm rotating through two WIPs and felt like sharing both, so here's a bit from the next chapter of my badminton AU:
Eventually, Hawke collapses into the spot on the loveseat that Merrill has vacated, only to find herself next to Fenris. The smouldering look in his eyes is enough to make her want to book it to the bathroom with him in tow if only because it’s the only room in this apartment that locks. Emboldened by the atmosphere, the alcohol, and the fact that less than half an hour ago they had been making out in Varric’s study, she feigns casualness as she slips her arm onto the back of the couch, not quite touching his shoulder, and leans in to murmur in his ear, “Do you dance, Fenris?”
He turns to her, lips close enough to kiss, and she’ll be damned if she doesn’t want to lean in and press his mouth to her all over again, but there are eyes on them and her own unwieldy embarrassment to deal with, besides, so she doesn’t.
Instead, she chortles thoroughly when he replies, “Oh, yes. In the apartment, of course. By myself.”
“Seriously?”
“I’ll show you a routine I choreographed next time you’re there. Very elaborate.” She can hear the smile in his voice, and she means to laugh, but her pulse has sped up at the thought of perhaps going to his big, empty place again, and she wonders what they could be doing there…

Yet another bit from the upcoming chapter of The Lone Wolf’s Call (can this just. get out of my brain already???):
“Aron likes you,” she said quietly. “I know what it’s like, being in the dark, but he’ll tell you what this is all for soon enough.”
Fenris nodded and found that he believed her. She disappeared up the steps. As soon as her heels whipped out of view, he dashed over to the notebook. Seri had terrible writing, but what he could read of her notes just indicated the number of weapons they had dropped off, the weather conditions, the absence of patrols and their border crossing point. The agent who had written in the book before, however, had left a more extensive report, in much neater handwriting.
Wind blowing from the southeast, it began. Fenris skipped a line or two of description of the weather. Expect delays on pickups. No doubt this was what Seri had been frowning at. Inquisition update: not unlocked yet.
Fenris raised his brows and filed the cryptic note away for later as he scaled the steps back up to the opening. What could it mean? What in the Inqusition wasn’t unlocked? He was interrupted from his musing, however, by a hiss from Seri as she spotted him coming up the stairs.
“Fenris! Get out of there, but stay low!”
I wrote 900 words on my phone, half asleep at 2am about my Inquisitor bantering with an Orleasian dressmaker and an Orlesian makeup artist, NaNoWriMo is going great,,

So just before Luke went off on his journey, Ash and Misty went and had twins? Okay. -JediMasterDraco
These two have been in existence for a while, but I’ve kept them kind of hidden for a few reasons. The biggest one being the fact that I didn’t want anyone to think I was just adding more kids for the sake of more kids. It was more along the lines that I was working on their characters arcs, their intertwining stories, and I came to a point with Ash and Misty and I was typing out their children’s names and instead of writing ‘Aurora, Luke and Rose’ I wrote ‘Aurora, Luke, Rose, and’ and that’s where I stopped for a minute. It’s really, really strange to describe, but when I would write something out I’d write the words ‘twins’ in then stop and stare at it, wondering if it was because Ash and Misty with twins seems to be an incredibly, incredibly common thing.
So to try and sort this out, I talked to a few people about it. I joked about there being more Ketchum kids and how I’d make them a set of identical female twins because the idea was absolutely hilarious to me. Not only would that make four girls vs. one boy, but just the quick scenarios I thought of involving Ash and Misty dealing with identical twins amused me greatly.
So with some discussion and encouragement *cough**cough*caroline*cough**cough* I started doodling a picture that actually ended up taking shape. Then I took that into photoshop and BOOM there it was, the outline for said twins. Then I started playing around with the colours, knowing from the beginning that they were going to have Ash’s brown eyes (since it, along with his hair and skin tone would actually be the more dominant genes over Misty’s) but I went through a billion hair colours. One thing I realized when I was combining colours is that this ‘dark red/burgundy’ people sometimes make from mixing Ash and Misty’s hair colours? That isn’t really a think. On a scale of Misty’s orange hair to Ash’s black, there are a billion browns, auburns and things like that in between, but no dark red. Anyway, they ended up (after a LOT of switching) with a dark brown that’s almost black. Then I gave them Misty’s skin tone. Don’t even get me started on how long it took to pick names.
Then I showed them off and just started talking about them a little bit like I actually knew them all along, I knew that they needed to be there in that story.
Anyway, I’ll talk about them more in your second question since that’s actually specific.
As I was reading through the Ikarishipping tag, there's a question I thought of that I wanted to ask. So, were they only dating when they had the kids and got married after? I was kind of confused and just want to clarify.
Actually, don’t really trust my ikarishipping tag here. I’ve gone back and fourth over that story so much that reading that would be very confusing.
To answer your question though, technically they weren’t even really dating when they had Kieran. They started to date before Dawn realized she was pregnant but that was after a really impulsive decision that ended in Kieran. Unlike in other headcanons and storylines, Dawn and Paul don’t get a happily ever after here. Not in a typical sense with each other.
Even with Kieran around they had a very on-again-off-again relationship. The good times were really good, but the bad times were really bad. They BOTH tried so hard though. When Dawn found out that she was pregnant with Gwen, they were actually separated at the time. That was a hard pregnancy for her because she suffered from postpartum depression (which CAN start DURING pregnancy rather than just after). She kind of lost control a bit so Zoey moved in with her to help her, ESPECIALLY after Dawn got pregnant again so quickly after Gwen was born (Sienna’s only a year younger). Finding out she was pregnant again kind of snapped Dawn out of it, and she tried to work things out with Paul, though in the end, for them and their kids, they decided to just remain friends. So no, there was no wedding or anything like that, because they didn’t end up together. Paul is very much a part of Kieran, Gwen and even Sienna’s life (even though she’s not his daughter) and he actually ends up very happy that way.
As for Dawn, she ends up with Zoey. I like appealshipping more than ikarishipping, but I like good, slightly traumatic/dramatic stories too.
