It's the anniversary of my posting of Macabre Theme and Variations in a few days, and I was inspired for a small spin-off fic, as in, how would things go down if the loop ended on a different day?
Meaning, how would chapter 7 continue if they managed to end the loop there, and Yor remembered that day?

I'll leave it to rest for a bit, probably a week or so and then go back to it with some space put between the present me and the me who will publish the fucking thing, but yeah for all intents and purposes IT'S FUCKING DONE
I absolutely don't want to jinx it, but Tuesday I came up with an idea for an AU fanfic. I had the mind to sit down and start typing it.
Now, a little more than 48 hours later, I've spat out ten thousand words. I'm holding the muse by the fucking hair and I'm refusing to let go. I think I'll manage to finish a long multi chapter for the first time since 2021 and for the third time overall. I'm not even 25% done but I just wanted to share with y'all cause I feel the power inside of me. I will fucking finish that story. I WILL!

would anyone be interested in a "director's commentary" for Macabre Theme and Variations? As in, me copy-pasting certain parts of the story and giving author's notes about them? Like, what my thought process was, what parts I liked, what parts I feared wouldn't go that well, what parts I winged right through... that kinda stuff.
Some notes I've already shared in replies to comments on ao3, but I thought maybe I could like, share everything. If anyone's interested.

I still have just a bit from the second to last chapter, and then the last chapter finally. It's at 13k words on its own, damn. It's long but I fear it won't make sense to split it in two parts with the way I've structured the rest of the fic. If I do it'll only be on the last 2k words. Maybe that's something, lol.
And oh my god. Did I write 7k words just today??? It currently stands at 61k in total. It's a fucking beast. That's 9k away from being considered a novel. Where did all that come from. Remember how at first I thought I would barely cross 50k? Yeah fun times.
Something that really gets me about seeing such positive response on my SxF fic is that... I don't actually consider myself a part of the sxf fandom. I don't read the manga and avoid spoilers from it, and that not only holds me back from discussions on the topic (since most people discuss stuff that has been shown in later chapters of the manga) it also doesn't allow me to engage with most of the fan content in general. So, despite how much original content I make for this fandom, I feel more like an old geezer sitting on my porch and shouting things at the void than an active participant.
Of course, it's all of my own choice and volition, I can read the manga and catch up any time, I just prefer to experience the story through the anime. And this peculiar choice makes me feel a little... alone. It's a strange word to use for this case because it's literally no one's fault, just caused by my own choices.
And because of that, it touches me and makes me feel welcomed, to see people read my fic and give such a positive response. It gives me a bit of that feeling of being the active part of the fandom I wish I could be.
