Ni and Se

Ni: What are the future implications of a situation Se: What is currently happening and what does this mean Take for example two people looking into each other's eyes. The NJ says "they're going to get together", the SP says "they're attracted to each other". When asked why this is, the NJ stumbles. When asked what this will lead onto, the SP stumbles. This is a very simplified example, but I think it is helpful in understanding. The SP is not simple. They are not "missing things". When figuring what things mean, what is happening, what the evidence shows, they will outdo the NJ. When figuring out what things will lead onto, the NJ will outdo the SP. Extraverted sensing is not just "taking information in through the five senses" it is noticing everything now and telling you what this means in the current situation. At an extraordinary level, it's Sherlock Holmes. Extraverted sensors are incredibly perceptive and are brilliant at knowing "what's actually going on" and this power has been incorrectly given only to NJs. So, to recap. Se is shockingly insightful and doesn't "just notice things I'm the environment". A Discussion on Sensing

As well all know, sensing functions are simplified to physical processes with no thought process. And I want to change this, but I can't do it alone. So I propose a discussion, made up of both intuitives and sensors. If you would like to be a part of this, you must be willing to discuss it in depth and not hold on to any bias you have against sensing. It is just as valid a process as intuition.  If you're interested, please message me with your type and why you're interested. Even if you're not, please reblog this so more people see it. The Intuitive Bias

Okay, so we all know the intuitive bias is a thing. I've come across so many things that have angered me beyond belief. And while it's really nice to hear you intuitives admit that there's an intuitive bias, you're not doing anything about it. Which I understand. Sensing functions information is so awful that not even sensors can be confident about what they're experiencing. But here's the thing - we sensors need to explore and experiment Si and Se. We need to write posts and discuss things that go against the norm of what's understood. And you intuitives need to let us. You need to not suddenly scream "No, that's not Si/Se!" every time you see a post that doesn't fit in with your understanding. Because your understanding is rubbish. Sensing functions have been so simplified that they sound like physical things that require no thought process (especially Se). But they're all psychology, which is mental processes. Yes, sensing appears to be more of a physical process, but this is what you see. MBTI is not meant to be about behaviourism, but it is what's it's become. There's so much more to Si than sticking to a routine and there's so much more to Se than being sporty.

To recap, fellow sensors, please make posts about your functions that go against this pre-existing idea we have of them. Intuitives, please actually read it and think about it and ask questions (I would actually love to discuss my understanding of sensing functions with both intuitives and sensors) before you suddenly write it off.
