Time to buff out some Tamagotchi Meets scratches ✨

So a while back, during the 2nd or 3rd day of owning a Magical Meets, I got a nasty vertical scratch on the right side of the screen. How exactly that happened I’m not sure, but most likely due to something like a small rock residing in my pocket or Starbucks apron at the time. Regardless, incredibly disappointing to have happen to a brand new Tamagotchi.

I found a nice tumblr post that recommended Polywatch to help remove any scratches, and after reading very mixed reviews on Duplex either working or ruining screens, I went with the safer option.

My poor screen after 2 weeks of play. I’ve been waiting on a case to come in for it, which hopefully will be here within the next week or so. This is before any application of Polywatch.

So I began applying Polywatch and scrubbing.

Until about 6 applications later I came to this result:

Not bad at all honestly. The Polywatch removed most if not all of the minor scratches, leaving a very nice and smooth screen. However, the larger formentioned scratch on the right side is still present, but definitely not as noticeable as before. I’m definitely happy about that if anything.

This morning I went ahead and tried another Polywatch application and cleaned up the screen with some lens cleaner. Afterwards, this was my end result:

Overall I’m pretty satisfied with how well Polywatch worked out. Perhaps the scratch was too deep to be fully buffed out? Even so it’s definitely not as noticeable as before.

My main goal was to repair the scratch enough so that it won’t be as noticeable while the screen is lit, and, well...

I did my best.

Overall I do recommend Polywatch for your basic surface scratches and minor abrasions. It definitely does work if not helps. If anyone has any recommendations to help me tackle the main scratch, definitely let me know. You can order Polywatch either through Amazon, EBay, or Etsy.

Be careful not to scrub the outer faceplate; the outer designs such as the stars can rub off 😣
