you know that one episode in tmnt 2k12 where they travel back in time where splinters and shredders start of the story gets revealed and how splinter and tang shen where having an argument about leaving Japan, scince there's no future for the clan anymore ecka the ninja era is over? So I've been wondering around what time that was and apparently did the ninja era end in 1912 , so if we say that the "present" of the show is playing in them same year as the show got puplished (2012), they traveled 100 years back in time or if we take it more specific S3 got puplished 2014 so they traveled back 102 years back in time (April said in a Halloween episode that the turtles always flip out on Halloween so it would make sense if at least 2 years passed till S3 idk).
But that would mean splinter was older than 100 years cause he was- what? around 20 when he left Japan?
so I checked again and found on tmnt fan/wiki that they traveled back 30 years, so does that mean the show in general takes part in 1942? that's not possible too though cause stuff like the tech they use and facebook online friends etc wasn't a thing before mind 2000 IF I remember right-
well our tmnt 2k12 director was a big fan of the origin 1984 version, and I'm not sure if there is something said or if general in the comics a date got revealed, so I'm just taking the year it got puplished again -

now I noticed that it could also be that the clan existed after the era was already over which is why she way so confidential saying there's no future for them so it could also be possible that the time the episode is playing in was around 1984,but I hardly believe it existed so long after the end... idk
I just spend 40-60min making a rushed research without a result,
just cause I wanted to know the popular/common designs for teapots in that era cause there's a panel where I have to draw one for my tmnt AU comic
( have to say it was a really bad research as I'm 100% sure there is SOMEWHERE a proof about what year the show gets played in and maybe they mentioned it in the episode itself but I just scratched Infos from the top, so shame on me),
I think I should have just take the year 1912 and continue with my life
just wrote the most useless thought series down and I feel like I'm missing out on an OBVIOUS fact of tmnt, so please someone enlighten me
