Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Finding Eden
Hello, and welcome to: MY BRAIN GOING ROGUE!!
Yeah a brand new iteration spawned in my head the moment I woke up yesterday. I wasn’t even dreaming of them that night, my dreams were about Danny Phantom not TMNT so idk where this came from but. Yeah.
The turtles spent most of their childhood with the EPF. They were the ones who mutated the turtles as weapons. Hamato Yoshi was part of the team in charge of their training.
He had a relatively normal childhood in Japan, he moved to America for college and due to his skill in ninjitsu (as taught by the Hamatos) he was recruited by the EPF. He worked on the Turtle Project for several years without expecting it to turn out the way it did (they were supposed to be mindless soldiers, capable of decision making in the field but not actually being people) and when he saw what they were becoming (normal, human children) he and several other soldiers on the Project agreed to extract them. Unfortunately, in the process several soldiers were killed. The survivors were fired and blacklisted from all possible jobs for life. Mutagen was spilled and Yoshi was mutated into a rat. Nobody was able to meet him at their agreed extraction point, and he had no choice but to go into hiding with the turtles and raise them as his own. He started going by his childhood nickname, Splinter.
The EPF created Project Turtle for two main threats: The Foot Clan and the Kraang. The Kraang come over to earth every century or so and it always leads to destruction and devastation. Their scheduled appearance is coming up, so the EPF chose to be ready.
Similar to Rise, the Foot and the Hamatos are old rival clans. Their rivalry varies from generation to generation. Splinter’s childhood held some animosity but they were able to live with each other in decent silence. Since then, however, the current Shredder has chosen to take on World Domination and are deadly enemies with the Hamatos. He’s become a big enough threat that the EPF took notice.
Mutants are old and commonplace in this universe. They’ve existed ever since the first Kraang appearance, several millenia ago. Mutants and human relations have always been rocky, but recently it has been getting pretty bad (due to EPF propaganda). The EPF observes and oversees all Mutant Societies, and Mutants live in separate cities from Humans. Splinter did not move into a Mutant Society because of how closely the EPF monitor them, but he is able to shop for anything he and the turtles need, so life in the sewers is rather comfortable.
Donnie and Leo were made first. Donnie was Subject Purple and he was crafted to be the leader (as purple is the color for royalty.) He’s terrible at it, but Leo was able to help him keep up with the tests. Leo was Subject Blue and he was meant to be a support for Donnie. He’s done exactly that. Leo and Donnie are twins.
Raph and Mikey were created two years later, when they determined that two soldiers was not enough. There were now A team (Donnie and Leo) and B Team (Raph and Mikey). Raph was Subject Red, the Tank of the four and leader of B Team. Mikey was Subject Orange, another supporting role. Raph and Mikey are twins.
