Regarding the Mitchells vs the Machines. I gotta say, I like the movie, and I like the characters and the messaging and basically everything about. The animation and character design was really fun, and the Mitchells were probably my favorite part of the movie.
But like... do you also feel a bit like Pal's arc throughout the movie could have contributed to the main themes of the movie better? If they had just used it a bit more? Like sure a lot of people suck and everyone has flaws, but it isn't worth it to destroy everything ever and you can find better people. Or something. Idk I guess for a movie titled the Mitchells vs the Machines the machines didn't feel very present in the movie's messaging.
I like what we got. I just think it could have been better.
Anyway have a nice day <3 random stranger<33
i do also like what we got!! i think pal honestly deserved a redemption arc because like. yes there are shitty people out there, and yes people will abandon you, but if katie didn't just pass over what pal was feeling and try to help her explain it so she can process it and went right to "well yeah but my family is cool so like lol stop the uprising" (which makes it worse, katie's straight-up invalidating pal) then pal could have been such an amazing representation for abandonment trauma, the immediate results, and a recovery from trauma like that imo!! but no they didn't even have katie try to correct herself later and engage with pal later they just had her die. again, i still LOVE the movie but i really pray that they think about this for the sequel that was announced and give pal a better, continued arc in the sequel!!
