Repost from @gettingonmynerves5k • Meet LaQuisha, 44 year old mother of 3 beautiful girls, full-time worker and entrepreneur who loves to sing, read and smoke cigars and she is surviving #TrigeminalNeuralgia. Read her story below 💛 . My story started in May of 2013 while sitting at work with what felt like a toothache that started out of nowhere. I saw 2 dentists and a dental specialist before I was finally diagnosed in June 2013. I suffered from type 1 and 2 of TN; the burning sensation as well as the shocks and as time went on my pain got debilitatingly worse very fast! I couldn't eat, drink, brush my teeth, talk, sing or do simple things like touch my face. The pain had taken over and was controlling my life! It eventually lead to me being off work unpaid for 6 months. . By the time I made it to a neurosurgeon I was on my third medicine with no relief and all he did was tell me I was too young to have TN, added Gabapentin to my other medicines and refused to see me again. I continued on and saw two more neurologists and made 3 trips to the ER with no reprieve. At my highest level I was taking carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine and gabapentin at the highest doses. I was also on liquid dilaudid and Percocet and using a numbing pen to numb my mouth just to take my medicine . I had to start keeping a pain journal because I was on so much medication at the time and I wanted my sister to know what I took in case I didn’t wake up. Read the rest of my sister’s story by getting the book Still Fighting: My sister’s fight with Trigeminal Neuralgia on Amazon. #TNdidntwin #trigeminalneuralgia #trigeminalneuralgiawarrior #trigeminalneuralgiasucks #trigeminalneuralgia #suicidedisease #Herstory #StillFighting https://www.instagram.com/p/CYSyTK_tPB2/?utm_medium=tumblr
