In the book Francis wanted to kill Hannibal toward the end b/c he interpreted Hannibal telling him to "kill them all" was motivated by Hannibal fearing Will. I also believe he wanted to use Hannibal for his becoming or something.

Maybe that’s it, then; maybe, when Francis said he wanted to watch Hannibal meld with the strength of the Dragon, that melding would require Hannibal to be dead at the time? He’d be killing him to gift the Dragon to him, because he esteems him so much, not because he feels betrayed/angered by him?

The way Hannibal said it, I thought it could mean all three (Jack, Hannibal, and Francis) are in trouble b/c this lamb is done being used and abused. Of course, that could be my own wish fulfilment there.

...Hannibal thinks he’s in for it, too.... but doesn’t know Will knows he’s in love with him does he? *eek* Will’s bubbling feelings of resentment towards Jack and Dolarhyde can progress unchecked, but his feelings of resentment towards Hannibal just hit a massive broken-heart-shaped roadblock! :-S

1) to see how gentle Will is with Hannibal now that he knows

2) but Hannibal doesn’t know that he knows

3) and Will knows that he doesn’t know that he knows

I don't know whether it's been mentioned yet, but the thing that struck me was that Will's first sentence after Bedelia's "Do you ache for him?" was "We haven't got anything else."(sic) I felt very much like that was related.

Hmm, interesting. 

And the framing was interesting, too.

because he was alone in shot; you didn’t necessarily know where he was, what he was talking about, or to whom he was talking, and he sounded (and looked) pensive… like his mind was elsewhere…

Do you think Bedelia loves Hannibal, then? Or does she wish Hannibal loved her like he loves Will?

If you’d asked me before this week’s episode I would've said no, but I can’t think of any other reason that you would have a tear in your eye while telling someone that a third person is in love with them, and not you - can you??

It might have been a tear in fear for her own life, perhaps, because Will has ensured that she is not the last survivor. But she hasn’t teared up when her own life was in literally presently in danger before, so why would she start now? 

There may be politic reasons to make Will feel sorry for her, rather than resent her; having Hannibal’s beloved fighting in her corner is a handy thing. 

But I cannot credit even Bedelia with being a good enough actress to pull this performance off. Nobody’s that good (well, apart from Gillian Anderson, obviously). 

No. Whether it’s Stockholm Syndrome or a genuine emotion, she did want Hannibal to feel that way about her. I’m certain of it. 

I think you’ve got to bear in mind how terribly, terribly alone Bedelia is...

Can you believe that vague as ep promo for the finale??? What are your predictions? Cause I honestly have no idea aside from what I would expect based on reading the book. But I know Fuller always loves to leave surprises.

Tbh I thought that was less about NBC being pants and more about CityTV trying to be not pants, but then not having enough material to work with to make an actual decent promo.

And I don’t have any predictions because, with this show, even when you have a vague idea of canon, it’s pointless.

All I’m expecting is:

Hannibal is going to escape.

Hannigram are going to get closer.

Somebody’s face is going to get fucked up.

Honestly: I don’t care who dies, whose face gets fucked up, whose life is irretrievably altered for the worse. At this point I don’t even care if they don’t physically touch or if Will never calls Hannibal by his name?!

All I want - 

ALL I WANT 

- is for them to be together in the end. That’s it.

(What would kill me is if they ended it on a ‘choice’ cliffhanger.

‘Well, Will…? What’s it going to be….?’ 

[ zoom in on Will’s conflicted face ] 

[ cut to black ]

That would destroy me.)
