So that's the feeling
I've kind of figured it out now that I've calmed down from the SHIELD sneak peek.
I first wore Coulson to Fan Expo 2011, one month after Captain America: The First Avenger was released. I'd been planning it, and had my suit, sunglasses, and SHIELD briefcase (it was so new back then...), but it was slightly last minute as I wasn't exactly planning on actually wearing him yet, and thus didn't have time to fix my hair properly (I'd been cosplaying Loki for three days prior, so it was neck-length and jet black). But I still called myself Coulson. And you know what?
I didn't get "you look nothing like him." I didn't get "your costume is all wrong."
What I did get was "..... who?" And a lot of blank stares. No one there knew that name.
THIS HAPPENED AT THE FREAKING. MARVEL. BOOTH. BY THE MARVEL EXECUTIVES THEMSELVES.
And now?
THEY, AND THE PEOPLE WHO DISPARAGED ME POST-AVENGERS (TO MY FACE) FOR WEARING A "YOU KNOW HE'S DEAD, RIGHT? NO ONE LIKED HIM ANYWAYS" CHARACTER
THEY CAN ALL SUCK IT.
PHIL COULSON LIVES
AND IS GETTING HIS OWN FREAKING TV SHOW
now THIS feels GOOD.
