Mister the Crime boss AU
so imagine a world where the Za Lord's guard is formed earlier, where Harry decided to invited Toot-Toot over for pizza, they are talking and then the Dread Beast himself appears, Harry stops Mister from pouncing on Toot-Toot, by bribing him. Explains to Toot that he lives in the apartment at Mister's sufferance (the usual cat owner talk) and the evening goes well
A week or so later Harry sends Bob out with Mister for some reason. Toot seeing this pauses to talk. There is an accord that is reached. Za Lord's guard will aid Mister in the holding and controlling of his realm, in return Mister will not hunt those that bear his badge, and he will lend them the services of his Wizard, if they provide the cash, Harry will order pizza for them with a small tax of sorts, he gets one pizza slice and a bottle of coke for his efforts. (Mister knows that Harry will share with him)
Anyways that is how the Dread Beast's gang started, local pixies mug mobsters that try and ply their trade in Mister's territory and then go to Harry to get pizza with the money, other wee folk ether join Mister's gang or are hunted. The local pets ether stay indoors or follow his directive.
Mister enjoys being lord of his domain, he expand it when he feels like hunting and there is nothing left to hunt.
Harry has noticed that Murphy looks at him weirdly for the last couple of months when they see each other. But other then a "If you where with the mob you would tell me right?" She doesn't say anything.
Then Tommy Tomm and Jennifer Stanton die and Harry is called in. Then Marcone picks him up for a conversation and accuses him of being the "Dread Beast". Harry wonder's why the mob boss is accusing him of a being Mister and b killing Tommy Tomm. They soul gaze and generally things happen like in the book for the most part.
Harry only has a chance to think about being accused of being Mister while he's in the hospital, then he has questions. He gets home and asks Toot-Toot. Toot answers.
Harry then goes gets drunk, finds Murphy and tells her "You know when you told me to tell you if I was part of the mob? Turns out my cat is a mob boss."
As Murphy looks at a drunk Harry he goes on "Did I fail as a pet owner? Why would Mister decide to become a mob boss? Are there signs I should have scene?"
