Dear guys, gals and pals of Camelot it is with great joy that I wish all of us here at The Once and Future Kingdom a happy anniversary. It’s been three years to the day since this group first opened and it has been one hell of a ride. When I first made this blog and posted the first bio I could not have imagined the adventure I was getting myself into.
I’d like to take this chance to thank all of the incredible members of this game, both past and present. Some of you have been with us from the very first day and others joined the family later on. A huge thank you also goes out to my most gracious and talented co-admin Antrey, without whom this roleplay wouldn’t be what it is today. This wonderful world we have created exists because of all of you. You guys have made The Once and Future Kingdom the magical little corner of the internet that it is.
I know that we’re a small group and we’ve had our ups and downs but I like to think we still have some tales to tell. Either way, I know the characters, stories and friendships that were born out of this group will always hold a place in my heart, and for that I thank you.
As we know summer can be a challenge for RP groups in general, we don’t want to lose this one quite yet. We’ve been quite lenient with the activity checks over the past month or so as we understand you have other (probably more pleasant) activities to attend to during the summer (we do too, sometimes). In order to keep some order in things, we’re going to treat everybody as if they were on a hiatus until Sunday, August 19. Starting the day after that, the regular activity schedule is to be expected, unless you specifically message us with a hiatus request. You’re more than welcome to post before that, of course, but you don’t have to worry about losing your characters if you don’t post in the next two weeks.
At the same time, we would like to ask everyone who is still part of this RP to like this post by the same date, August 19, to give us a rough idea who’s still with us and wants to continue in this wonderful journey we’ve been on for two and a half years.
Thank you for your attention, enjoy the rest of the holidays!
We are excited to introduce a new feature to the roleplay called the Questing Beast. The Questing Beast Blog will serve as a multi-purpose blog that takes the role of a different beast(s) every month to torment the people of Camelot until it is defeated. These monsters are meant to stir up trouble in the kingdom and help the plot develop. Every month a new creature will 'take over' the blog and plot drops will be posted. For every beast there will be a character in charge of defeating the monster. This character will be randomly generated and messaged and then it is up to that player to decide when how and where their character defeats the creature. Players can also choose to work with other members and have characters get together to defeat a monster. Whether they want their character to defeat the monster alone or to work with another member is entirely up to player discretion.
The different beasts embodied by the Questing Beast Blog will be taken from Celtic, Welsh and Gaelic mythology as well as other fairy tales. We will be accepting suggestions for upcoming monsters from our members, just please make sure the beast is reasonable, meaning it can be defeated and fits in with the context of the game. Under the Read More you will find a brief list of rules regarding the interactions with the different monsters. The first beast will arrive on October first, and we will be posting a notice for everyone to follow the Questing Beast Blog.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach out and message us!
No beast is invincible and cannot harm an in game character without the player’s permission.
All submitted beasts must be fathomable within the realm of the roleplay and must have at least one weakness
Unless a player has been messaged beforehand his or her character CANNOT defeat the monthly beast. This is to avoid the confusion of having multiple characters facing off the beast.
Once a month a beast must be defeated, but the defeat can happen at any point in the month, even the day after the beast arises.
The beast can be defeated by either a single character or a group, but we encourage the selected player to plot with other members and make it a group event
The beast must always be defeated but it doesn’t necessarily have to be killed, meaning some beasts might make more than one appearance throughout the game.
If you want your character to encounter or be injured/attacked by the beast please send in a message first.
We would like to try and make the city of Camelot slightly easier to orientate within, and so we would like to create a masterlist of all the places mentioned within the RP so far. If your character mentioned, visited or owns any location not on this list, please contact us so we can complete this reference. We would also like to ask you not to make up any new places out of thin air without running it by the admins first. It makes RPing much easier, thank you!

Hey guys! I just wanted to let you know that I have successfully returned from my vacation but I managed to fall ill immediately after so my focus and activity around here will resume on Monday. Sorry for the delay and thank you for sticking around!
Stay tuned, there’s an event being planned for a near future!
Just to let you all know that I am going on holiday and will be gone until March 13th, so if you don’t get a reply from the main in a while - that’s why! Admin S is still ill so we just want to make sure you know this RP is not being abandoned or anything like that.
Obviously in the time of our absence there will be no activity checks, but I would like to ask our existing members to take it upon themselves to make sure this RP remains active. We would really appreciate your help.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us, just know there may be a slight delay in response (as I’m not sure if I’ll manage to get online).
Hey guys! I was informed that the blogroll on the main page wasn’t working, I assume this is because of tumblr’s December update. Because of this, I had to create a manual one, which can be found under the same link.
As the holidays are approaching, we find ourselves in a ‘quiet period’ once again. This is understandable (as quiet online usually means very busy irl) and we don’t want you to worry about the online world or feel pressured to come and write when you might be busy with other real-life stuff. Because of this, we will not be doing another activity check until January 2, 2019. You are definitely more than welcome to continue RPing during the upcoming period but if you want to take some time off, that’s totally fine too.
We only ask that if you need a break beyond this date (Jan 2, 19), do let us know and we’ll put you on a hiatus. We want this RP to survive and in order to achieve that we need to know you’re still active.
From the admin team of tOaFK RP, I would like to wish you all very happy holidays and once again thank you for being with us!
