Hi, I noticed someone asked you a question about making longfall boots, and I don't know much about tumblr etiquette so I wasn't sure if it was rude to reblog and answer their question. But I made longfall boots for NYCC and pvc pipe does work. You just have to flatten it and its kind of a pain to heat form. I put it on the inside of the shoe as a purely support thing (I've been meaning to finish the tutorial for those..). They weren't as awesome as your's though, your's are fantastic!

I only suggested sheet because in my mind it seemed like drafting a pattern off of a round pipe would be difficult as well as finding pipe big enough. Having options is one of the best resources you can get in my opinion.
As for rebloging my ask with an answer, I would not have been bothered by it at all. I can’t speak for everyone though.
Do you have a link to where I can see your longfall boots? I would love to see how the pvc pipe worked out. I would love to see your tutorial too, when you finish it. :)
