One of the reasons why It's Your Party and I'll Cry If I Want To is my favorite tobeysode is because of this one line here:
"It doesn't matter how sensitive you are, you're- you're WordGirl! I bet you've never been left out of anything..."
This line hit harder than it should've.
Despite Tobey calling himself handsome, intelligent, and powerful like the arrogant, silly little boy he is, he still thinks WordGirl is a perfect person with no flaws whatsoever. He still thinks WordGirl would never be left out of anything because she's a famous superheroine. She reflects the image of a flawless individual when she's really not. Tobey looks up to her despite how many times he has said that he'll defeat her in battles because he loves her.
PBS Kids really did ToBecky dirty in most tobeysodes, but this episode is one of the tobeysodes that really showed his full potential of how much of a genuinely sweet person he can be. He demonstrated that he's not the big bad boy genius that they make him out to be. I still wonder to this day why they didn't do this more.
