It was bound to happen eventually with your adventurous career choice. And even though you currently in the emergency room, you wouldn't change it for the world. When you had initially gotten the call back for the roll in an upcoming action film you had been so excited you didn't think about any of the consequences. You were doing some of your own stunts, only the simple ones, but of course, you were the type to be able to mess up some of the simple things due to your clumsiness.
It wasn't long ago that the doctors had left to look at the x-ray they pushed you through, which left you on your lonesome. They had asked you if they should call anyone, and you simply answered no. You had your own cell phone and could make a quick call or simple text out to anyone who you thought would need to know what was going on. First, you called your mom and explained that you had fallen off a prop at the set and were taken to the hospital when you felt the sharp pain in your side. You received an earful from her, and you didn't expect any less from her honestly. She already wasn't the fondest of your career path, and this only made things worse, her daughter getting hurt on set. Once you finally managed to get her off the phone you decided your next call should be to your boyfriend, Tobi. The two of you had been together for quite a while, in fact, you were in the midst of discussion moving in together. He was probably the sweetest guy you had ever met and was always making sure you were okay. It was always the little things, like him asking if you had got enough dinner, or if your head still hurt after a rough night out. To say the absolute least, you were completely in love with the man. You knew he would be nervous as soon as the word hospital slipped passed your chapped lips, but it would only be worse if you kept him in the dark about the situation. The phone rung a couple of times before you heard his voice through the receiver. He sounded calm, as usual, and the sound of his silky voice instantly took your stress down a notch.
"Hello?" He answered normally. He was supposed to be with Josh and Simon today. Filming some sort of videos for their channels. It was almost ironic how both of your careers involved the two of you to be behind some sort of camera. However, you always applauded him for doing things by himself. You had a whole team on your side most of the time. Swallowing back the thoughts you had, you let yourself speak.
"Hey Tobs, it's me." You replied softly, twiddling the warm blanket the hospital gave you between your thumbs.
"Y/n! I was just about to text you actually. The boys and I were just finishing up. Was going to ask if you wanted to get something to eat with us. Talia, Freya, Simon, and Josh of course. Like a triple date type of thing." The man rambled, instantly lighting up at the sound of your voice.
"It sounds lovely Tobi, but I'm in a bit of a dilemma. The idea sounded amazing, however, you frowned realizing it probably wasn't a feasible option for you at the moment. "I'm actually calling to let you know I'm in A&E at the moment." She admitted sheepishly. Not a second later Tobi replied.
"I'm on my way," and then he hung up. You sighed, locking your phone and tossing it towards the end of the bed. Shifting uncomfortably, you wondered how much longer the doctors were going to be. You didn't want to complain, but you were in pain. A few moments later you were brought out of your thoughts by the sound of someone knocking on your door. In walked your boyfriend following a young nurse. Tobi didn't say a word, simply looked at your body lying underneath the hospital sheets.
"Just here to check your heart rate, but you have a visitor." The lady said cheerfully. After she had successfully taken your heart rate and blood pressure, she left the room leaving you alone with Tobi. You looked at him sheepishly, smiling awkwardly after a moment.
"What happened?" He asked, finally being the first one to speak. He moved to sit in the chair beside the bed and grabbed your hand, bringing the back of it to his lips and kissing it gently. "You have me nervous Y/n." He trailed off. You felt guilty again. You definitely didn't mean to get hurt, but you also didn't mean to make your boyfriend worried.
"It was just me being me I suppose." You answered, shrugging your shoulders slowly. The movement made you cringe though, as a pang of pain hit in your ribs. Giving you a look, Tobi waited patiently for you to answer his original question. "I fell off one of the higher props and landed on my side weird. They took a scan to check my ribs." You sighed. Tobi frowned and moved to take your hand.
"Does it hurt badly?" He asked curiously, running his thumb over the back of your hand to try and comfort you. He knew he shouldn't feel guilty, but there was that feeling in the pit of his stomach that said he wished he could have been there to catch you. But no, he had to work and film with the boys. You nodded your head and shrugged at the same time.
"I mean, I guess it could be worse, but it's not the most enjoyable feeling." You said, giggling afterward.
The doctor came in not long after, explaining that you didn't actually break anything, but instead, you bruised the ribs on the right side of your body. After going through all the discharge paperwork, you were free to leave the hospital. You changed, thankful that your boyfriend was considerate enough to bring you a shirt and a pair of shorts, and then walked out of the building. They had given you instructions on what to do with the pain, and a prescription for some medicine to get you through the pain. Tobi was being the sweetest, as always. Making sure you were walking carefully, carrying your things, and rubbing your back when he could tell it was bothering you more than normal. He drove you back to his apartment, after assuring you he wanted to take care of you, and he didn't want you to be doing things on your lonesome while you were injured (even if you were convinced you'd be fine, after all, it was just bruised).
Once you made it back to his place, he carried you in through the door, making you pout (but making him chuckle), and set you down on the couch. The entire time you stayed with Tobi (only solidifying the fact that you did want to live with him), he basically took care of you for the entire time. Though the boys teased him for becoming such a "house husband", Tobi didn't mind one bit. He enjoyed having you around more often than usual and liked that you were home with him on nights. If anything, you falling off the prop at work brought the two of you closer than before.
