Ummm, hiii i do really love your acount,do you think you could do an accurate Character.ai bot of Tomi your oc? I really love their concept and history
I am against AI character bots. I am against generative AI. I am against LLMs. I am against anything backed by rich assholes.
There are US American cities without fresh water and insanely high electric bills as we speak because shitheads like Elon and Zuckerberg made a bunch of data centers to process AI requests. They left the neighborhoods surrounding them to foot the bill. AI data centers use so much energy and so much water that they pull from the houses around them. There’s nothing those people can do about it either. Their water is brown. It’s not even clear. They’re being told to boil their tap water in neighborhoods where it used to be safe to drink from the faucet.
I deeply hope you can understand why I find this question insulting. Like no. No I don’t want you to. And if you claim to have a conscience or even an iota of care for humans, especially the impoverished ones who can’t fight lawsuits, then you can’t! You can’t make a character bot to entertain yourself for all of about a week.
Meta is trying to build a massive data center close to where I live. If you think just because it hits the poor hardest that it won’t come to places like college towns and middle class places, you’re wrong. Because it’s already coming to MY town. MY town with a good local economy and a good blend of people from different heritages. Anyone I’ve talked to who knows half of anything is already gearing up to spam call our mayor, electric companies, and water providers to fight the upcoming economic and public health/safety issues.
We can only sit and watch as they build that ugly fucking building and hope they don’t finish it before the AI bubble bursts and our bills and water quality are left devastated completely.
How have you been on the internet long enough to fill your head with someone else’s OC lore but haven’t been on the internet long enough to care about current events? I’m guessing you’re too young to be on my blog at this point.
Reconsider your stance on cheap entertainment. This is a deeply offensive question for the reasons stated above. And I don’t normally reply to asks made in poor taste, I just block the IP, but I genuinely seriously hope you consider even a fraction of what I’ve shared with you. And please, for the love of our communities, read a news article once in a while.
my dear friend mon has recently converted me to douma(and akaza 🥲) propaganda, the infinity castle solidified it, so seeing your art for him has had me giggling and clapping my feet like a joyous leprechaun. Beforehand though I just REALLY liked your art like, I dint know how to describe your style but it’s like a beautiful mix of calligraphy almost and pencil at the same time? And your oc designs, especially that fairy one? Amazing.
Tldr youre awesome and thank you for supplying a new Douma consumer 🙂↕️
Your sentiment is very sweet and it’s kind you would spend the time to think of words for complimenting my style. I’m not sure which fairy you’re talking about but it means a lot to me nonetheless. 💕
You’re welcome to be on my blog but please keep these things in mind if you do. (This really goes for everyone, honestly):
I mostly post EnDouma. If you don’t like that ship, then I wouldn’t follow. Other blogs might have more enjoyable art if bottom Douma squicks you or you don’t like Enmu. I draw him a lot, it’s not really avoidable. 😭 they’re married on my blog, essentially.
This is not pointed and I know you meant well by it. You’re just the most recent person to remind me and I know people don’t mean anything by it when they say it, but I don’t make content and I don’t make consumables. I hope everyone can challenge the reflex to think it for my sake. At least while you’re on my blog. I’m an artist and I make art. The corporatizing of fandom and its participants makes me really sad. It’s okay to say you’re a fan of something, it’s okay to say you’re enjoying art.
I hope that makes sense. 🙇
Thank you for your patience if you choose to stick around. I just draw what appeals to me. Douma’ an interesting bug and I like poking around in his head. Idk if you play Hinokami Chronicles 2, but Douma DLC as a playable character drops the 28th. It goes without saying I preordered it some time ago 😭 I will be annoying with screenshots, I promise.
I'm at an American Studies conference and I brought the froggie friend you made me!! Xoxo
HELLO!!! I hope you had a great time at the conference. And if you didn't, I still hope you learned something cool. I'm just delighted your frog can keep you company <3 I'm so grateful to see he's held up so long! I wish we could have hung out more before you left. <:(
What first inspired your love of Enmu, and by extension EnDouma??
So this is gonna be super long and rambly so I'm sorry in advance...
I can't tell if that's Shinobus way of saying no or yes. Maybe Mitsuri got flustered before she could drink cold war and see what her question was about
In general (among people I know) the bigger the tits, the more likely you are to feel the cold travel to them when you drink cold water. (Myself included.)
My small titted friends (and partner, they requested they be included) have no such feeling, on average. Unless they’re a particular flavor of neurodivergent that’s sensitive to temperature changes inside the body. So the joke is that Shinobu’s tits are too small to feel the cold water, which is why Mitsuri said “I guess not” upon seeing them.
Maybe this was too niche. Orz
Do you think Enmu would like the Polar Express?
Yes and no. The train is impressive and the perilous moments are thrilling. The con is all the squeaky kids and the mushy message. I firmly believe he would be a child hater. They’re too unpredictable.
I also think he would be into the conductor. Own the man, own the train.
2, 18, and 21 for the ask game? :3
(2) Do you prefer oneshots or longfics?
I like longfics more. I realized recently that oneshots are a very different set of skills to longfic. Mainly in establishing the characters, setting, and plot quickly enough to maintain interest but thoroughly enough to make sense without over explaining everything. My oneshots are messier in that I have a lot of background knowledge for how characters ended up in a situation, but to connect them to that point in the fic takes too long. It ends up coming off as I had a plot summary for a larger idea that should have been written as a large idea. And honestly, yeah. It's true. It should have been. I'm not really built for oneshots as much as I would like to do them.
With my long fic I have all the time in the world to leave details hanging because they will be addressed later. Oneshots have no such luxery.
(18) How do you decide what POV to write in?
It was actually you who pointed out I tend to write third person omniscient but that's mainly because limited perspective is very difficult for me. I LOVE reading limited perspective, but when I write I tend to view it like a TV episode. I consider the audience heavily when making choices for what information is given freely or not. I guess when I limit perspective, that choice is made with "How much do I NOT want the audience to know?".
Actually, in my most recent chapter (9) for Long-term Investing, the choice was made mostly to have the narration from Douma's perspective because I wanted to let the audience speculate on how real his mother really was to him. I only briefly give his mother's perspective towards the end because enough information has been peppered in the chapter already for the audience to conclude she (or at least her spirit) is real, whether Douma believes that or not. Since her desperation to be believed becomes the focus, you get to be in her head for a little.
I also tend to switch perspective to highlight tension points between characters. You as the reader understand the motives, and get the frustration of understanding and sympathizing with why the characters make the choices they do. I think I pulled this off best with Kizuki Eye's early-middle chapters, where Douma wants to stay with the cult because it's all he's ever known (and he feels an obligation to "fix it") and Enmu wants to flee from it because he knows Muzan will persecute them for defying his will (being for Enmu to have died after being de-ranked). The intrigue in limited perspective comes from not knowing everything and waiting to learn it, where I find in omniscient perspective the intrigue is in knowing things even the other characters don't in regards to each other. And sometimes in regards to themselves.
I don't typically reveal perspectives for character's like Douma's father though, as I don't really care to delve into how a pedophile's mind works. I'll be so honest. You get skeeved out enough as the reader by the words he chooses to say and his body language, so there's more fear in not knowing what he's thinking directly than there would be to hear from his perspective directly. Such as in chapter 15 (Rules of a Dream, also in Kizuki Eye) where Enmu is trapped in a child form as he's exploring Douma's subconscious, and when he's met with Douma's father he's forced to see from young Douma's perspective just how vulnerable that situation is. Though nothing explicit happens to Enmu in that form, he's easily lifted by his arm and talked down to by Douma's father. Both being things he can't do anything about. Douma's father's perspective does not matter here at all, because his presence is meant to teach Enmu and the reader something about how Douma was groomed into his role as the Founder, both psychologically and physically. What the father thinks is irrelevant to the story otherwise.
(21) What is something that no one has caught about one of your fics?
This is a hard question because I only know as much as people comment. But I would say for now the thing no one's noticed in Kizuki Eye is Douma's sense of abandonment by his parents (his mother especially) and his habit seeking behaviors. He may not physically be in the cult anymore, but he's hard wired to recreate what he knows in managing the feelings and expectations of other people. He is also a very grief motivated character, just not in ways people would pinpoint so easily as grieving. Mostly because his perspective is unreliable to the audience in how he regards himself. But keeping his mother's head after her death, continuing to brush it for years, trying to keep her comb and a flower from her resting place -- he's just not a character who can leave things behind.
Even in dream scenarios where he's faced with his father and needing to sit with how confused he makes him, Douma still couldn't let go of a piece of him either. He couldn't will himself to be genuinely angry over how he was sexually abused, despite having been very damaged by it. His outburst to beat the dream father to death only happened because there was a smaller, child version of himself he was protecting. It wasn't even truly about avenging himself. Even then, he couldn't even let go of his father's severed finger in a dream. That was a memory. He can never let go of those.
I would also say people haven't really noticed his tendency to revert back to numbness when presented with difficult emotions, especially in Long-term Investing, which is Kizuki Eye's sequel. I won't say as much about that one though since the fic is far newer and still being actively updated.
Chapters 15-16 are all very symbol and metaphor heavy. Mainly in that I have no interest in writing out graphic assaults. Some readers thought Douma apologized to Enmu when they were resting a void state in the dream because he pitied that Enmu had seen what happened to him. He was actually apologizing because Enmu was experiencing things that forced him to empathize with Douma, including the scene where Enmu is swallowed up by the hands picking the lilies when Enmu was trying to protect a child Douma from being swallowed too.
While not a necessarily a sexual battering, it's about the loss of control over one's body. It's about helplessness. Enmu was stuffed down, hit, grabbed, his clothes pulled undone. Enmu had warned Douma before the dream that he wasn't strong enough to protect himself or Douma from Douma's subconscious. Douma's psychology WOULD effect him. And it did. Enmu isn't a character that connects emotionally to others. He's only ever exploited them. So to understand Douma, it was necessary to throw him through a similar loss of agency and a growing feeling of entrapment within the Temple. The trapped feeling being shown by the dream Temple being a maze without an exit with fear and obstacles at every turn.
That's why Douma apologized to him when they met in the void state. Because while he wanted Enmu to understand him, he hadn't wanted him to suffer even a fraction of the way he felt. (Though Douma would later stubbornly deny he wasn't hurt by any part of his childhood.).
