Bloodline premiered on Netflix on 20 March 2015.
Created by Glenn and Todd Kessler, with Daniel Zelman, and was the first partnership between Netflix and a major film studio (Sony).
The Kesslers and Zelman personally met with Kyle Chandler to pitch him the lead role of John Rayburn, and Ben Mendelsohn was their only choice for the part of Danny Rayburn. Both actors received rave reviews and numerous award nominations, including Emmy Award nominations for Best Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actor (Mendelsohn would receive the Emmy for his work in the 2nd season).
