Fic Title Game
I shared that Tumblr prompt that I posted the other day with some fandom friends. Sharing here for funsies.
“The Good, the Bad, and the All-Out Crazy”
To which I replied, "It's definitely giving me either Psych, So Help Me Todd, or Republic of Doyle - all of which basically have the same vibes anyway." So naturally now I have an idea for each.
Psych
When Old Sonora franchises and opens a new location near San Francisco, Shawn can’t wait to explore all that "New Sonora" ("It’s not called that, Shawn." "Sure it is." "No, it’s Old Sonora, just in a second location." "Yeah, so it’s New Sonora." "Still not it." "I’ve heard it both ways.") has to offer. There’s even pony rides! But then… the city inspector fails the attraction on a simple safety violation. And then that same city inspector turns up dead in the fake "just for show, there are definitely no real dead bodies here, Gus" graveyard in New Old Sonora. Can Shawn and Gus find whodunit and ensure opening day goes off without a hitch? And will Gus finally conquer his fear of horses in time to get a date with the very attractive, very single employee who runs the pony rides?
Republic of Doyle
A simple missing-person case turns into more than Jake bargained for when he discovers their client’s mild-mannered schoolteacher boyfriend is actually a grifter with enemies hot on his trail. As the case unravels and more criminals turn up looking for their missing teacher/grifter, Jake and Mal somehow find themselves acting as his reluctant bodyguards—and discover their client may not be exactly who she says she is.
So Help Me Todd
When Margaret represents a no-nonsense retired judge accused of assaulting his neighbor, Todd discovers the victim is actually a con artist running an elaborate blackmail ring involving a self help "cult" of sorts. But while trying to gather enough evidence to convince the judge it’s safe to actually testify against the blackmailer, Todd decides to go undercover in the scammer’s commune—and discovers his sister has decided to try to find new direction with a weekend away at the group’s retreat. Will Todd find the evidence before he’s discovered? Will Margaret manage to convince the judge to testify on his own behalf despite the still un-located blackmail? And will Todd’s attempts to pose as a self-help motivational speaker survive his judgmental older sister glaring at him from the front row?
