there’s so much hip hop i still need to listen to, i mean i started Larry Larr’s 1991 „Da Wizzard of Odds” and the Wu’s 1997 „Wu-Tang Forever”, I wanted to listen to Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth’s 1994 „The Main Ingredient”, I just got reminded E-40 exists, still gotta get through Gang Starr’s discography, gotta start most of the Hilltop Hustlers member’s discographies, and im sitting here listening to fucking Toddy Tee
he’s got kind of an interesting (if short) story so i might ramble about that a bit later
as a matter of fact, he shamelessly jacked a Whodini beat on his ‘85 tape “The Batterram Tape” which reminds me I also started and never finished Whodini’s 1984 “Escape”

You took off your Fila shirt and your Reebok shoes, And had the nerve to call the police a bunch of fools. You called ‘em pigs, sissies, and even punks While the Batterram battery needed a jump. And by the time it got started you fell to the floor, And that's when the cops said they can't take no more. And you were so damn high, my little friend, That you didn't know your living room was in your den.
