No. 2 Pencil
Aren’t these just so adorable? I bought the yarn and the pattern as a kit from yarn enabler, back at the Kitchener-Waterloo yarn fair in the fall.
The yarn was wonderful to knit with. The kit had one large skein of yellow yarn, and two skeins each of the brown/black and the pink/gray. The yardage of the small skeins lined up really well, and the proportions of each colour were great. The yarn was also very soft. I would definitely knit with this yarn again!
Even though they were a few days late, I’m still counting them as being pretty much on time for my April socks.
Here is my Ravelry project page, and here is the pattern I used.
Toe-Ups Past Heels
I’m going to call this pair of socks, Stand socks. That is because I have been listening to the audio-library copy of The Stand.
We are at 91% in the book. I say ‘we’ because off and on either my husband or my son were sitting in on the listening. Now we can’t wait to finish so we can watch the newer version which is supposed to be on CBS All Access. I think we have that.

Magical Yarn
My daughter sent me a package of yarn, a book about knitting socks and a Kindle book about loom knitting. Oh, yeah, two footprints. Hers and her boyfriend’s. I was ecstatic! Oh, and the thought that I have made my daughter toes one more time isn’t…

Aaron's Socks Are Done!
Aaron’s Socks Are Done!
I finished Aaron’s socks! He’s been asking for black and red socks for quite awhile and I’ve been stalling. I didn’t want to knit socks for growing feet. That’s senseless!
I have knit him socks before: tube socks knit from Red Heart Super Saver yarn. As you can imagine, they are indestructible. I swear I still see him wearing them once in awhile. They will grow old with him. They will survive a…

Basic toe-up socks pattern, anyone?
Guys, help!
Just started some toe-up socks. The thing is I know that I will never finish the second sock, so I decided to do the two at once with magic loop.
Can you recommend a basic toe-up sock pattern so that I know how to increase properly?
What are your favourite beginners sock patterns (toe-up)?
thanks so much
