(2/3) I continue to suffer.That the style is completely different, isn't it?
A long time ago I was told that the sketch of this drawing looked like an icon. And so I finished it, though I finished it in six months.
An AU idea has been visiting my head from time to time, where the monsters also had magic and Mewni just had the biggest power, enough to dictate others and force them to restrain their magic; and Magic high commission’s objective was to try and control the utter chaos that happens thanks to everyone wielding magic powers. As for Toffee, I always wanted him to have powers that sound very simple and lame in theory but is very threateningly overpowered in practice..especially executed with his wits and intelligence.
Toffee has the power to make portals anywhere and anytime and of any size in the entire universe; the only nuance though is that he has to 100% Know what the place he summons the portal in, and what objects he wants to transfer; but obviously he figured it out and did his homework by travelling in as many places as he could and has enough knowledge to use his power to the fullest.

It would appear I am forgetting to post here. I'll try to remember better but for now, here's some random trash.
Theory: Glossaryck considered Toffee to be the one who would destroy magic, all along.
Glossaryck looked at that monster and saw a lot of potential in him . He wanted Toffee to destroy magic so that the Butterfly family wouldn't face chaos and retaliation from mewmans, because he saw it as a threat to the safety of Mewman kingdom. In other words, he wanted to use an alternative to eliminate magic without hurting Mewman reputation.
In Meteora's lesson , Glossaryck sent Meteora in the past and provoked Toffee so that she would dip down and blast him. In many years later, Toffee used the same magic as Meteora to achieve his plan.
"Perhaps we came here to teach YOU."
And given how twisty episode titles can be, the title "Meteora's lesson" could be interpreted as Meteora's lesson for Toffee.
The way how Glossaryck said with satisfaction "jerks like him never learn." Could be interpreted as him being satisfied with the fact that Toffee won't change his ways and will try to destroy magic no matter what.
When Glossaryck said with a smile "I think magic is in pretty good hands", it confused a lot of watchers because later on Meteora lost her magic. The only option left is Toffee. Glossaryck was referring to Toffee. And it makes sense for Glossaryck to choose Toffee, of all monsters, because he knew how thorough and meticulous he can be. "This guy wont screw up the plan" he probably thought.
Glossaryck supposedly regretted having spread magic and seeing how much imbalance it caused, he wanted it to be no more.
But why Toffee and not a Butterfly queen, who has access to magic? The answer is, making a decision like that - to destroy all mewni legacy and the foundation of Mewman power, would lead to utter chaos and could be dangerous. If a mewman queen had done that, mewni would be in danger because the kingdom would be split and would become an easy target for other enemy nations. So Glossaryck felt lucky or confident that a monster who is very competent, would be able to do that. Glossaryck didn't talk to Solaria because she made it harder to achieve the plan bc her reign resulted in increased tensions between monsters and mewmans.
Why did Glossaryck try to make a magical.. meatball? When Toffee burned the book? So that he'd still have some access to remaining magic in case something goes wrong. For example if Star would fall into the wand and got lost there.
In the episode when she dipped down in boiling hot water he looked like someone who possibly predicted it but not necessarily wanted it to happen. "Oh boy, so she's gonna do that then. Alright." His reaction felt like this . Glossaryck didn't exactly want Star to dip down but he didn't not suspect that either. If Star wouldn't try to take extreme measures, he'd return her back to Moon with his magic stew.
When Star talked to him later, he said "The question is, WHY were you in the wand?"
And when she mentioned Toffee he nonchalantly commented "Maybe THAT was a mistake too".
Glossaryck didn't intend for Toffee to be dead, it was never a part of his considerations, but he accepted how it went and tagged along with new turn of events.
Glossaryck didn't exactly "manipulate" anyone to do what he plans, he just "prepared himself" for any possible outcome (an outcome that would benefit him either way) . It's not that I claim Toffee didn't play part in it, - he did, and Glossaryck just gave him a light push in the right direction (by almost obliterating him with Meteora's dip down)
Glossaryck considered that Toffee would destroy magic and leave, and the rest of his life didn't concern him because Toffee wouldn't be as much of a threat anyways (no magic, mewni still has soldiers, toffee would probably leave butterflies alone or die in a war). Or he considered that Toffee would be killed by Star (which actually happened).
additional theory: Glossaryck probably learnt about Toffee because Toffee was getting too deep in magic and Butterfly business, and maybe they had met each other in past when Toffee researched history.
Another theory which feels far fetched but i liked its magicalness: Glossaryck can predict who all owners of Magic Book of Spells are, and he predicted the last owner of the Book of Speels would be Toffee, which caught his interest in him
It might be plausible, given that Glossaryck is tied to the book...
