A tasty and nutritious substitute for regular chicken nuggets are Crispy Baked Tofu Nuggets. They are baked to perfection after being covered in a delectable marinade and breadcrumb mixture. These nuggets are excellent as a main course, an appetizer, or a snack.
Ingredients: 1 block firm tofu, pressed and cut into cubes. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 2 tablespoons maple syrup. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1 teaspoon onion powder. 1/2 teaspoon paprika. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast. Cooking spray or oil for greasing.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 400F 200C. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Add tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss to coat. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes. In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs and nutritional yeast. Remove tofu from marinade and coat each cube with breadcrumb mixture. Place tofu nuggets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and lightly greased with cooking spray or oil. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden brown. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
