ohhh im curious why you ship tokotoga? ive never heard it mentioned or thought about them before, so id love to hear your perspective on their appeal!
First off, aesthetically, it's really cute. Goth and cute (but violent) vamp girlfriend.
Secondly, I think there's small hints about Tokoyami's life that are interesting and unexplored. We get small things in the Team Up mission stuff, of things that happened to Fumi, that we reconcile with what it seems Fumikage is all about in canon; helping friends, not hurting them.
The little scene we have of him admiring Kaminari's dedication and sacrifice to help his friends was interesting because it's linked to what he thinks is admirable about Hawks, but also says a lot when you think about the Forest Camp attack. Tokoyami lost control of himself and attacked his friends. I think, essentially, he must have struggled with controlling his quirk for years. That a lot of the darker urges, and being in the dark, was probably off-limits for him for so long because Dark Shadow is hard to control in a state like that. Essentially, I have a feeling Toga and Fumikage might have an understanding on having a quirk that is hard to control, and likely would have been very difficult to have in a society where such quirks end up defining a person's worth.
I found the original post I made on this.
