Note : “togidashi” signifie que les différents décors sont exactement au même niveau que le fond. Il n’y a aucune sur-épaisseur.
Classic Pens LS 12 Shimarisu (Chipmunks) maki-e on the Parker Duofold Centennial 2004. After digging up the LS 11 photos, we also found that the LS 12 Chipmunks pen. These two pens, along with the LS10 Inochi (Life), complement each other and work together as a three pen set. The Classic Pens LS 12 Shimarisu (Chipmunks) maki-e was offered as 15 pieces on the Parker Duofold Centennial and 15 pieces on the Classic Legend in 2004. Chipmunks also symbolize trust. They are curious and playful, and they represent a balance between trust and caution as well as flexibility in one’s opinion. Chipmunks, if they trust you, will climb into your hand to eat seeds. The togidashi and taka (raised) maki-e artwork shows a pair of playing chipmunks on a tree surrounded by leaves. The artist, Shogetsu Mitani, created textured finish on the pen body look similar to tree bark, as if the pen was the trunk of a tree.
Classic Pens LS 11 Nihonrisu (Squirrels) maki-e on the Parker Duofold Centennial 2004. We had the opportunity to photograph this pen in 2008. The Classic Pens LS 11 Nihonrisu (Squirrels) maki-e was offered as 15 pieces on the Parker Duofold Centennial and 15 pieces on the Classic Legend in 2004. Squirrels symbolize trust. They may be friendly, playful, and energetic, but they also store for the future. The togidashi and taka (raised) maki-e artwork shows a pair of playing squirrels on a tree surrounded by leaves. The artist, Shogetsu Mitani, created textured finish on the pen body look similar to tree bark, as if the pen was the trunk of a tree.
Classic Pens LS 10 Inochi (Life) on the Parker Duofold, 2004. Inochi in Japanese means Life. The design on the pen is inspired by the oak tree, symbolizing strength, its leaves representing dignity, integrity and honor. The artwork represents a new season in the forest. The Maki-E techniques used on this pen combine to create the leaves, bark and acorns in high relief, including Togidashi and Taka Maki-E. The Maki-E artist is Shogetsu Mitani and carries his red seal signature. There were 15 pieces on the Parker Duofold Centennial and 15 pieces on the Classic Legend.
